First bit of rain here now, but for the exciting stuff I'm going 90's - Oasis - Slide Away.

All our satellite signals suddenly went off. It was dry.

Then all of a sudden, torrential rain, overflowing all the gutters and lightning, did not hear any thunder.
14.2mm rain in about half an hour.
Rain has stopped now.
18c, 1017.7 hPa, 90% humidity.

The day had been very dry and pleasant, with 21c temps and a SSW wind.

Trying to brighten up here, feeling very humid.

There was plenty of lightning around me last night, which was a bonus. 2.2mm of rain. I'm just within the warning zone in today's MetO update, not really expecting anything, but you never know!

So boring and disappointing today. I wasn't expecting storms this far N/W but the cloud associated with this morning's activity and now this afternoon's has provided a mostly gloomy and very humid day with only very brief brightness between 10.00-midday plus some invizdriz from time to time.

Disappointing day after a sunny start, clouded over, light, annoying showers this morning and now on the edge of a heavy line moving slowly NE.  However, really warm in the sun and out of the stiff breeze earlier this afternoon.

Quite an active although non thundery Bristol Channel streamer for much of the night and ongoing this morning, running roughly from Burnham inland to Wincanton.

After a dull dry yesterday, thought the weekend might pick up.
Its been very grey here today, between 11am and 1pm we had some heavy showers and a few rumbles of thunder and lightning that was overhead.

Still raining, but light, 5.8mm since 11am. But most of that was a lot in a short time.

Quietly saying that it has been dry and mostly sunny here all day.  The lines of showers have passed by to either side and the one now stretching NW/SE from Wells to the the IOW looks set to miss us too.

Wow what an active day yesterday in and around Newbury.. And that wasn't just me rushing around. Thunderstorm after thunderstorm well into the evening. Sorry no pictures as was out and about with the horses... One in particular who thought it highly exciting as a storm approached and rumbled but then who took himself off to his stable as the first drop of rain started and stood there all afternoon- dozing too between showers in the sun. Nice life

 

There seemed to to be a lot of rumbling, dark skies, very heavy downpours, but I didn't see much in the way of lightning. 

One good thing don't need to water the garden, although grass needs cutting! Argh can't win.

Blue skies appearing this morning along with some cloud, but no grey.
Just drizzle for us yesterday late evening and through the night after that mid morning of heavy short showers and thunderstorms.
7.3mm in total yesterday, mostly mid morning.
16c now, 1019.3 hPa and light W to SW wind.

We were down at the in-laws near Fawley for most of Saturday. There were lots of cells moving their way down Southampton Water, so we had a good view of the Lightning, as the cells passed close by to the east and then eventualy overhead.

It was a good opportunity to explain what was going on to our 8 year old Nephew. He did a excellent impression of someone who was pretending to be interested.
