Quite interesting this morning. Multi layered cloud about an hour ago but now broken with mainly Sc but Ac and Ci above in small amounts. Quite mild with temp 12C and a light breeze from the SSE.

The rain has arrived, further east than I would have expected. Hopefully it'll move through quickly.

another nice sunny morning....warming up nicely, some patchy mid-level cloud, more especially to the west (in association with a clump of showery rain pushing up through the west country).....risk of some heavy showers this afternoon, but hopefully will stay dry as we have a nice bbq planned :)

Seems to be a nice storm passing just South of here, plenty of T&L to be seen and heard. No rain but looking pretty black in places, so guess it's only a matter of time.

Just had a half decent thunderstorm here as per my post in the convective thread.

Frequent thunder and biblical rain and hail. Back to sunshine again now.

Really impressive explosive storm development this afternoon. We were up at Westbury White Horse from midday until 14.00, in that time the sky changed from total Cirrus/Altocumulus cover to almost clear blue and hot sunshine to rapid development of Cumulus, TCu. We then visited my parents in Westbury and in that half an hour the sky darkened and produced a sharp shower at the edge of what looked set to be a storm.

We then drove from Westbury to Warminster, having indeed realised the first local storm had fully formed near Trowbridge and I spotted further development just to the SW, kind of Frome/Shaftesbury way, and said to my wife I fully expected a storm out of that. The radar then exploded into life around Midsomer Norton/Wells and there must have been some serious hail cores within it judging by the light pink echoes.

As for Warminster, not a drop of rain and ended the day with the first alfresco dinner of the year with warm sunshine and the temperature still above 20c nearing 20.00! What a far cry from last week when it was down to 4c at the same time lol.

In fact, similar locations (specifically Trowbridge/Bradford On Avon) have had an Arctic air sourced thunderstorm last Saturday and a continental air sourced storm today!

It got to 21.7°C here today. The rain arrived, thankfully it wasn't too heavy, as I've got  cement trying to dry. :)

Really enjoyable day yesterday, despite some cloud now and again. No rain here.
Got to 20.7 yesterday lunchtime and then stayed at 17c for the afternoon, and a low of 14c at midnight.
Humidity was between 65 - 75%.

Now 15.2c, 1006.2 hPa, ENE 2mph, 75% humidity.
Cloudy red and white skies this morning.
