Recently had 56mph here! only bettered once in my records for this valley (9th March this year funnily enough, but from the NNW).

Seems the low may be a bit deeper and/or further west than thought based on that, forecast only had gusts in the low 40's in general here.

Think Katie, is a little deeper for sure. She certainly making a hell of a racket in Newbury. Not sure though what wind speed we are getting here?

The south Coast must be getting a battering.. Indeed F12 gusts have been recorded at Chichester harbour already.. With the wet ground I suspect a fair amount of damage tonorrow.. Trees mainly  etc..

Just popped down the shop and was surprised to see very heavy sleet hitting the windscreen. Blowing a gale too.

Very windy here still.
Been blowing very strong all night. weather station shows it picked up at 1am.

Fences down everywhere, bins strewn all over the roads.

40mph winds now with many 50 mph gusts, many 65-7 mph gusts early morning.

Well that was one hell of a noisy night. Staying with relatives in Feendown, fences are missing everywhere, the wind was relentless for much longer than forcast as was the rain.

im dreading going home later, as I've no idea what I'll find, being right on the coast. Over 55 trees down in Dorset.

now back to sleep for me.

Pressure got down to 986.34hpa, windy but I think we got away with the worst of it with wind speeds of 19mph gusting to 25mph

Rain from Katie totalled 19mm

Blimey what a wild night! Haven't investigated the end of the garden yet but the trees appear to all still be there, can't say the same for the fence though, lost some more of that.  Looking at the flashing lights on the digital clock it looks like the power went off at some point, thankfully all back on now. Now dry and breezy.

Not quite as severe as the gales at the start of the month here; we certainly missed the worst of it for a change with central, southern and southeastern places taking the brunt. Nevertheless, another very wet night with more than 20mm of rain following an already high total on March 09th.

Not too bad out there now. Breezy but bright with sunny intervals. Showers should start rattling in later.

Looks like we were alone with the winds in this region then only on the south coast here with those winds.

Having walked around and spoken to other neighbours, many agreed they were thinking windows were caving in overnight. Manged to sleep through that.
Must admit I've never seen so much damage after a storm for a long time.
A greenhouse up the road blew over the road, glass all over road and frame in another garden.

Two brick walls on the corner of the road are over.
Houses behind mine all had loads of tiles on roofs down and they did a lot of damage to cars on front drives.

30mph winds through the day with many 50 mph gusts.
Feels as though the wind is finally dying down.
Only comfort is its been dry and sunny today.

Not here.  The main band passed by 1:15am, then just a few showers. The MetO updated their forecast around 1am, to reflect this.

Mapantz, agreed the main rain had passed by 1am check the radar, we were nailed by heavy showers between 3 & 4am, bright colours on the radar.

Frequent sometimes heavy showers this afternoon and some nice skyscapes.

Katie was quite notable here with some brief very strong winds but also flooding with the river reaching the highest level since 2012. I have posted some details and pics in the Storm Katie thread:

Crazy night here certainly most windy night of the year. Today the hail showers at 2000 ft were intense. And tomorrow we have snow predicted! Can't keep up!

Very similar drive into work as on March 02nd with very heavy showers of hail and sleet, and gusty winds. Also heard some window rattling hail during the early hours. Quite exciting weather really.

Looks like a bright interlude to come before a more organised band of precipitation arrives around lunchtime.
