Very dull all day up until now. The sort of weather where it's not particularly cold outside but makes the house feel cold inside. A bit of blue sky coming over now though.

Currently 13.6°C after a high of 13.9°C.

Is it just me or are the autumn colours brighter than usual this year?! Am I going mad or have I been walking round with my eyes shut every autumn?!

There's some beautiful autumn colours at the moment, was thinking the same thing today as I was out with the dog. I think it's because I had more time to enjoy the colours, as it was dry and little wind. Last year, with all the wind and rain, I think I had my head down and getting round the walks as quick as I could.

Glorious afternoon here as it looks like clearer air off the continent has moved in. Pleasantly warm too. :)

As with many places there have been a number of foggy mornings recently. However they are very variable in nature, on a few occasions I have been working in Trowbridge/Bradford On Avon in sunshine only to return to fog in Warminster then again on a few other occasions the exact opposite has occurred. It was the latter this morning but with the fog only clearing as I got within half a mile of home. Fog is the one weather type I do not understand!

Glorious 'last burst of summer' afternoon!

Quite a change to the cold dull morning with some very pleasant sunshine this afternoon. Despite the rather dull last week, October has still managed to be sunnier than September here so a very fitting end to the month. Not that I give a flying 'fork' about Halloween, a foggy one would make it the second in a row here, as it turned foggy late in the day last year.

Dubai Floods: Another Warning Sign for Desert Regions?

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall. It doesn't rain very often here like other desert areas, but like the deadly floods in Libya last year showed, these rain events are likely becoming more extreme due to global warming.
