Hazy sunshine on & off, and it hit 25.5°C There has been a little convection going on, but due to minimal oomph, it's spread out in to a layer of stratiform clouds, very displeasing! :)
The dominant wind direction has been NNW, but it has veered more to the S/SW.

Temp: 24.5°C - Hum: 65% - Dew: 17.5°C - Bar: 1009.14hPa - Wind: S @ 5mph.

Does anyone else think we maybe a little to far west for any storms, cells firing up near London seem to be heading N/W

Not the best picture but this cloud has been shooting up and has now hit the top and is spreading out. Think it's from the storm near Blandford Forum.

Phenomenal storm just passed over Newbury.. Biblical rain and spectacular lightning .. I'd like to know how many strikes per min? Anyone.. Took this video but this display was mediocre to some that preceded or followed

Lightning and thunder seen from Southhampton general hospital.about 10 miles away currently...no rain as yet...

There's a fabulous view from the top floors of the General and the PAH. :) Hope everything's ok, snowintheforest.

Lovely rumbly thunder almost constant in Soton now. Rain only intermittent si the cats, who've been living virtually feral all summer,  are running in and out and shouting at me to dry them off, little burgers.

Hope all this heat this means we're going to get a proper cold winter.

Another huge storm overhead in Newbury with biblical rain and incredible lightning displays-however looking at photos of the aftermath of yesterday evenings one I am not so sure Newbury centre will be fairing well.. Roads round the corner are breaking up, high flash floods, lightning strikes ... Hmm the daylight will tell and so the local paper. For now I'm staying put and not venturing outside.. Oh here we go again more lightning more rain...

Safe to say I didn't get much sleep from around 1am - 2:30am. Amazed all three kids sort through it. The rain was incredible also. Bournemouth gardens flooded again. Interestingly exactly one year ago Bournemouth Gardens flooded because of storms. Good old Facebook on this day memories. Put it in your diary folks 16th September 2017.
