Smashing afternoon here with just a touch of Ci, Ac. Feels quite warm out the back.

Excellent news... I'm just looking at Sat24 now, wondering if it's going to clear here earlier than forecast (i.e. afterdark). That'd be nice on what otherwise looks like a poor weekend for us. :good:

Checked both the MO and BBC app at 3am this morning, today was supposed to be dry. There was a moderate shower around 11am, and bits & pieces of drizzle thereafter. It is feeling chilly relative to the time of year, quite an unpleasant come down.

Temp: 16.8°C - Hum: 95% - Dew: 15.9°C - Bar: 1018.83hPa - Wind: WSW @ 5mph.

Very grey this afternoon, slight drizzle in the air.
But we had 1,4mm of rain, a quick heavy shower at midday today.
Did not see that on any forecasts yesterday or this morning.

Temp dropped from 18.6c to 16.9c now, since that shower and 1018 hpa, 93% humidity, SSW 5 mph.

will it ever rain again jtay lol

Are you not enjoying the drizzle at the moment jy?

Tomorrow looks to be your day for a proper drop.

On another subject, how long is it taking you to get up to the Yew Tree at the moment. The traffic at Downton has been awful this week... Or are you going around the long way?

At the moment a layer of Ac with some fitfall sun. Temp 15C and a southerly breeze. You can see indications of Ci from the front to the west at 400mb on the Camborne 00z sounding.

Yup, lost a little bit of their intensity right now, but a good couple of hours rainfall maybe.

Fairly bouncy bouncy of the roadey sorta rain at the mo, so fingers crossed for another couple of spells like this..Kinda dampens the THAI festival for today though..

6mm fell in 15 minutes, not end of days stuff, but it certainly makes a nice change!

I didn't even see the warning!

Here comes the rain, just started here and its very heavy.
From the radar it looks like its set in for the night.
The Cat came indoors earlier, so must be a lot of rain tonight. Always a good sign this time of year when they would rather be sunning it outside.

Been raining here since around 4:30pm here, became very heavy after 5ish. Quite a back edge to the rain so could get more downpours later on, maybe even the odd rumble of thunder.

High today was 19.9c at 8:30am, first time its been below 20c during the daytime since July 30th.

Currently 17.7c with heavy drizzle, starting to feel very humid in the last few hours, with a strengthening Westerly Wind.

Today has been the wettest day since 1st August and the coolest since 29th June.

A little surprised to see a wet forecast for Monday. I had lost track of forecasts for a few days and thought we would be done with rain for the foreseeable future after tonight.

Today's warning didn't make much sense to me. It was right to be issued initially, but after the rain stopped here (5:30pm) they updated it, extending it to 11pm. That would be correct for areas like North Devon, South wales, running in to Bristol/Somerset, parts of Wiltshire, but there hasn't been anything notable for the South coast since.

The rain stopped here, well before 6pm:

Just a glance at the radar showed that:

2016-09-03 (3).png

The whole heavy rain episode, here, lasted 2 hours and 15 minutes, in which 17mm fell. After that, it has just been a bit of drizzle in the air. Very strange forecasts right down to the wire.

Some heavy downpours here.    But.... My  rain bucket failed. Roof has been renewed so debris probably got in. Did give it a knock with a broom ...Have to consult my 2 manual gauges in daylight in the morning.. All rain stopped now. Humidity 97%rh Temperature 17.2c..

I was surprised at how suddenly it stopped here too with very little following behind.  Not checked the gauge yet, but not expecting a large quantity, it was persistent but gentle most of the time.
