Arrived yesterday just outside Poole for a 3 night holiday, weather was lovely. Looking a bit thundery this morning though....

Ah, I wouldn't worry, this is Poole, the rain goes around us.. A short spell of Asperatus around 09:30 this morning has the the high spot of the day weather wise..

A small cell has formed  to the west of the main cell, hopefully this can grow as it heads North &  East.

Spectacular storm! Overhead thunder and lightning and absolutely torrential rain, so heavy that the sun lounge is leaking in a number of places. Gusty winds as the main core passed through as well. :D

Comparing the lightning strikes, radar and viewing / listening from Westbury one very impressive feature is the amount of lightning in between the main cells, presumably from adjoining anvils.

i have really enjoyed it but would love it to have been at night. Wouldn't have known which direction to look!

I am at football in Westbury and listening to it. Must be in the outflow from earlier aided by uplift over Salisbury Plain. I wonder how long they can keep forming in that trailing line.

Swindon Town v Bristol Rovers abandoned must be pretty bad that rain

Probably also due to the fact that storm has produced over 21000 strikes at a rate of 155strikes/pm, could call it a little dangerous!

Absolutely nothing of interest here at all.  Went to the east, no rain and just a few rumbles around midday.

oh yes very much!!i was watching it develop in the channel it was heading straight for me but decided to take a right hook at the last minute, just got a couple of flashes but loads of rumbles and some steady heavy rain.

it was impressive watching on the satellite loop.

After a overnight low of 16.7c, it was another tropical feeling day, with more hazy sunshine than of late. Its really not feeling like the UK right now!

Maximum temperature was 27.1c at 2:05pm when the sun made a full appearance!

Currently 20.3c with a dew point of 17.9c. Will we see a thunderstorm breakdown like over parts of the UK along the South coast? I hope so as this humidity needs to clear!
