I'm showing 56mph gusts in Poole around midday on MeteoGroup, I hear they've recently  won a big contract :ninja: maybe we will find out why.......

Is that on this app?

They always show higher gusts on their forecasts. They are probably right as well.

Yes that's the one, I'm guessing that's android as iOS is slightly different.

between 4&7pm now is when I'll see my strongest gust. I'm not convinced though....

went to sandbanks at high tide, bit of overlap of waves onto the road but nothing major, but quite extreme for August, certainly felt very autumnal.

Bit of aa non event here, really. Down in the harbour we are looking at 28mh gust, I'm seeing 5mph average 11mph gusts. It really has not been as expected. The low didn't appear to deepen as much as expected...

Been very windy here all afternoon, a few fences down up the road.
Was a constant 25-30mph for most of the afternoon and a lot of 35-40mph gusts.

Calmed down now, 18mph with some 25mph gusts.

Absolutely shocking morning, it's been raining (sometimes very heavily) for over 6 hours and shows no sign of letting up any time soon! Yesterday and Friday were considerably better which is ironic as today was widely touted (and still is) as the best of the 3 days!

Until Friday the monthly total was 20mm which all fell on the 1st/early on 2nd, I had only 4mm in the gauge yesterday morning but looking out of the window at the gauge it is approaching the 20mm mark in the last 24 hours.

It started off sunny, then clouded over, now the sun is out again.

On this rather autumnal day, anyone know what the sunniest day is likely to be next week in this area? Can't decide if it'll be Tuesday or Wednesday.

Dorset microclimate is letting you down. 22C here, now backed off to 21.4C. At least if the rain stays away the airshow wont make such a loss.

Well it has been a nasty 3 days on Mendip too with almost constant rain throughout. :nonono:

Looks like Tuesday to me with drier, clearer air arriving tomorrow night into Tuesday before it turns hazier on 2 counts during Wednesday due to the usual SE haze and frontal cloud from the W.

Wednesday night and Thursday look potentially fascinating.

Yeah that was my thinking too. Just don't want to take a day off and it end up cloudy. All this could be avoided if the weather just behaved as it should at the weekends haha.

Well the weekend was better than I had hoped, some hefty showers but it was warm and quite pleasant out of the strong wind, I'm now looking forward to this nice warm snap that seems to be looming, idealy lasting for the bank holiday weekend although it seems to lessen by Thursday.

I don't remember the BBC forecasting fog? The Wunderground forecast on my site showed it, sure enough, it turned in to a whiteout around 1am.

A toasty start this morning, brilliant blue skies! Should be good for fishing tonight. :)

Temp: 23.8°C - Hum: 66% - Dew: 17°C - Bar: 1021.91hPa - Wind: ESE ~ SE @ 6mph.

Ian Ferguson mentioned it on Points West last night, I'm not sure if they are still getting their data from the Met office.

I wish we could get Points West here. No disrespect to South Today and it's forecasters, but Ian F's presentation is always excellent.

You can on sky, I often flip it over from the south to west BBC for the weather as it definitely better..

Have we beaten your microclimate again today?

We peaked @ 25.3°C just dropped back a tad right now by 0.5C..
