30°C  recorded at Pantz' station.  beach.gif

Hmm I'm a similar distance from the sea yet my temp has dropped to 24.4C after reaching 27.1C earlier. It seems Dorset eastwards is getting higher temps near the coast even with a similar onshore wind, so temps similar to me right on the coast and reaching 30C a few miles inland in places.

This despite higher uppers in the SW if anything.. not sure why, maybe slightly longer sea track..Kind of annoying.

Me too, just hit the mark BIG 30, now the disappointment, no storms before the cool down, oh well maybe next time..

Currently 34c in the back garden!!! Just on a cheap thermometer on the shed mind. Though it would not surprise me if somewhere in Gloucestershire to the west of the Cotswolds recorded the UKs highest temp today, with the slight foehn effect of the hills anywhere to the west of them would likely be a degree or two higher. I would like to see an official reading for Cheltenham or even Stroud.

Reached 29.6c here at 15:30
Was 20c all last night with a brief low of 19.3c at 1:55

Its currently 29.4c

The 12mph ESE wind has kept the temp down here on the coast and in the last few hours we have had a few strong gusts of 25mph.

31.1°C here this afternoon.  Cloud cover becoming more evident over the last couple of hours blotting out the sunset.

30.2°C today, really pleased to have gotten that.
Solar sensor working a treat- can't avoid the drop-off at the end, as that's where the sun goes behind the house. Recorded 12.6hrs of sunshine.

Just checked weather station logs and peaked at 31.9 here in Tetbury, Cotswolds. Last years record was 32.2 so did not quite beat it this time...was also the hottest month last year. Only had weather station 2 years but starting to see trend :-)

Heaven this morning. A layer of St and mist. Temp 16C and a breeze from the WNW. Yesterday reminded me of the time, a few years ago, when I happened to visit the Eden project on the hottest day of the year. I grew a couple of inches that day to 5ft 4in.

Hit 33C here on the station and another max min thermo in a very well insulated shed/building hit 33.8C, seems they are having some decent storms up North, currently 22.8C here. Do we think they'll be anything today, storm wise in the South West?

Similar temps here, Mr no. Temp stayed up at 22.5 overnight and alredy climbing. Shouldn't moan as this is the last hot day we'll get for a while, but I do prefer a hot day followed by a cool night (and decent sleep0

Very warm night in the house last night, took a while to get to sleep, but was fine having got to sleep. Minimum temp was 20.9C, so possibly the warmest night I've ever recorded as I began in 2004. Just a shame that we haven't got the thunderstorms to complete the heatwave. It's like a cold spell going out without a snowy breakdown.

And here in Gloucester its 27.4c at 10.43 am.

Yesterday we hit 34c which matched Brize Norton (though I'm not sure if the latter was actually 33.5c)

Lowest temp here last night was 22.4c at 05.36. Wow ! Must check past records.

I am using the following site http://www.severntales.co.uk/weatherdisplay.htm .

Not sure who set this site up and I cannot vouch for its accuracy.

But it certainly felt like 34c yesterday ! Ouch !

Would be nice if a rogue shower could cool things down later (but then that would put paid to the bbq ! :-D

Cheers !

John
