thankfully things are starting to change....cloud is now starting to break up leading to some warm chinks of sunshine.....the nmm hi-res model timed it really well, and if it holds true we should hit 25C later on this afternoon providing pesky low cloud from the Bristol Channel stops spilling in

There's some bubbles of cloud in the distance, but the sat shows all this cloud thinning as it sinks South, hopefully it'll stay clear! It has been over a month since I recorded at least 10 hours of sunshine.

 

It was holding strong at 22°C for a while, now it's on the move - 22.6°C

Highest temperature of the year at 26.0c maximum achieved early afternoon during the sunniest period of the day. Low cloud returned on and off thereafter and is serving to provide a warm/muggy late evening, 20.3c now.

Auto correct failure

Can't seem to shake of this cloud, thus not feeling that warm, with a stiff breeze & this cloud, temp is struggling at 19.8c

Good sunshine yesterday with a high of 24c at 3pm
Was a little blustery in the morning with some 16mph guts, wind 12mph SW, but got lighter in the afternoon.

Cloudy this morning, 21.3c, light SW wind, 1023.1 hPa

Watching the golf this morning and last few days in Troon, looks like blustery wet winters days there, crowd all in raincoats and wrapped up well.
We are all sweating it out with shorts and longing for some rain for the garden.
Do hope the heatwave happens for early next week.

It did reach 25.5°C at lunchtime, under cloudy skies, then it dropped right off. The cloud has gone now, and we have blue skies. Temp going back up, currently at 25.2°C

Cleared up nicely yesterday afternoon, only 36 hours too late. Reached 24.2C.

Hey Db! It stands at 27.6°C at the moment, 28.7°C heat index, 29.,3°C apparent temp. It's nice to see some records broken on my relatively new station.

I really wasn't expecting the pea souper which I drove through from Warminster to Trowbridge before 07.00!

However virtually cloudless sky and hot sunshine now, the highest temperature since July 1st last year, currently 29.1c .

Finally summers arrived reached 29.6c not long ago. 29.3c now and rising again.

Very light SSE wind, 1019.8 hPa, humidity has been around 60 - 65% most of the day.

Was a warm and muggy night, even the Cat was trying to climb in the fridge and freezer last night 16.6°C  at  5:38

What a fantastic day!  Topped out at 28.1°C - I would like to break that tomorrow, but when "Tomorrow is going to be the hottest day of the year" gets said, it turns out cooler than the day before, here. Let's see how  that pans out?!

It is indeed. Cooling down. I want a decent Davis but for now I picked up a cheaper netamo one.

That could happen for us I suspect due to the stronger SE breeze, though I think we may still pip today here.. not sure. 

As for tonight it's down to 13.9C here already, despite the local forecasts talking about minima being 18-21C.. however this valley has a habit of doing that sometimes.

Standard minimum of 16.6C last night. 24.8C already though with picture perfect blue skies - it's gonna be a hot one. I foresee a day very similar to June 30th last year. Shame it's unlikely will see the storms to follow to complete the heatwave.
