Nice band of intense rainfall working it's way through the area from Southampton towards Blandford, moving westwards. Will miss us on the coast but is packing a punch in some areas, as it moved through.

Turned out a dry warm 16- 18c day yesterday after that early morning rain.

Some rain from 1am to 5am this morning 2.6mm.
The slugs and snails seemed to love that spell of rain, half filled a cereal bowlful from the garden this morning. All nicely now in the nematode bucket.
Dry now, 14.9c, NNW light wind, 1001.2 hPa, humidity 94%.

'Cracking' good cell over us at the moment. Good decent lightning and intense rainfall and wind gusts. All it lacks is a tornado... oops there we go again another strike..

Little cell near Devizes heading roughly this way, plenty of energy for it to tap into so am hoping it will be of interest in an hour or so.

Enjoy your storm Dorset coastal people.

Just spots at the edge of the cell but thunder to the N/NW a minute ago from a very well defined CB. Rada suggests Westbury has had a downpour.

Touch of hail and heavy convective downpour here. About the only place in the UK where currently raining!! Had a few warmer intervals today but been sultry and almost tropical feel throughout. Trout in the river going mad for the may fly!

Thunder now - first t-storm since last autumn!

Heavy rain just easing now - unexpected downpours for last hour, thought it was going to squeeze past to our south east!

Think that's all for tonight - maybe last rain for a few days if forecasts are correct.

Temp 15.5C, Humidity 96%, Barometer1003 rising slowly.

No rain here since 09.00 GMT, but my spies tell me that the Cerne valley caught it mid morning and Dorchester this evening.

Clear skies this morning but still fog although it's bordering on mist. Temp 10C and a zephyr from the NE. The Camborne 00z ascent is provisionally unstable so with temps rising could be some convective activity in parts of Cornwall and Devon later.

There was a notable chill in the air this morning compared to other days this week. The fresher air has certainly arrived - benefit of course being that this weekend the sky will actually be a clear blue colour, not milky!

Mike, you and I both know that the clear blue will be until around 10am when Cumulus will develop, spread out and make for bright/cloudy afternoons which will feel cool in the shade and when the sun is not shining. The sky will the clear through the evenings.

Not liking the change in emphasis for next week, seriously hoping for work related purposes that it reverts to more ridge influence for us even if that means brief frontal rain.

Glorious at the moment and definitely cooler though very pleasant. Looks like the Hampshire/Dorset coast is having some fun though.
