Looking quite convective today. Will be interesting to see if Dartmoor gets any sleet or snow and/or if any of the showers prove to be torrential with hail and/or thunder.

Cold showery rain.

I wish these raw temps would take a hike until next Winter, quite frankly.

Brief white out with a dusting of snow after some initial heavy hail.  :yahoo::yahoo:

Don't often see a shower start as hail without the rain.

Just had the tiniest hail shower here, probably about 50 of them, but they were like peas!

Well.. i've spent most of today getting this sorted, so hopefully there's no errors!?
There are one or two small bugs, they shouldn't affect how it all works and they will be fixed at some point.

A pretty grotty morning with Ns and St, moderate rain and increasing wind as the front(s) track slowly NE. Temp 8C and wind SE 30mph gusting 45.

PPVE89.gif

There is a warning in force for today.

An area of low pressure developing over the Southwest Approaches Saturday evening overnight into Sunday brings strengthening southeasterly winds into Devon and, more especially, Cornwall from early Sunday onwards into Sunday afternoon before winds slowly back easterly and gradually start to ease a little later on Sunday afternoon and more especially on Sunday evening.

These strong winds will be accompanied by outbreaks of rain, initially mainly over western Cornwall where some locally heavier bursts of rain are possible before the focus of the heaviest and most persistent rain shifts to Bodmin Moor and Dartmoor during Sunday afternoon and evening.

Conversely it's a glorious though increasingly windy morning in West Wiltshire, some Cirrus but plenty of blue sky. Minimum was 0.1c with a lot of frost, 6.1c now.

All this talk of frosts and snow on here the last few days, makes me think how different our climate can be in a region.
Last cold spells that were lower than 6-8c were April 1st, 21st and 22nd March that got down to 4c and last frost was 0.5c on 18th March.
Yesterday and Friday was a lovely sunny day with some cloudy spells, but with some occasional April type showers yesterday morning, just 1.8mm of rain.
Temp was up to 13c yesterday and only down to 6c overnight.

Now 11c, dry and sunny with light grey and blue mixed skies.
Was some talk on weather last night of strong gales today our way, not sure that's correct.
Its SE 18 - 20mph with a couple of 25 mph gusts.

Yearly rain so far = 281.2mm
Monthly rain so far = 13mm
March = 72.8mm
February = 46.6mm
January = 148.8mm

Slowly clouding over here today after a glorious start.

Overnight low of -1.3c which i wasn't expecting and I have seen more snow this spring than all of winter had to offer :rofl: I just dream of warm sunny weather now though still not even needed to cut the grass yet. :cc_confused:
