Not yet,   but have had electric fire on in sitting room for about 4 hours.

Also we changed to our thicker winter duvet!

Do you think that they may be standing on the ice?

Bitter cold tonight, it's already 7'c.

I'll go for 1'c or 2'c tonight. Definitely a ground frost.

You can even smell the frost in the air.

4.7C here now at 11:35.

Already coldest of the year.

Could well be a ground frost, possibly even an airfrost. It is currently dropping at 1.5C per hour, atthe moment as the wind has dropped..

MIA

Finally ended up at +2.0C with a ground frost.   (09:00)

Morning all,

Well this weekend ain't turned out to bad, a few days ago we we're due for a damp one for both days, bar from a grey start to things, it will brighten up and for the odd shower come tomorrow pm it's turned out to be a mainly dry weekend for most...enjoy :)

Clear here at the moment..

But seems to be getting colder in my sheltered garden, with a widespread ground frost and frozen ice on my car port roof..

Temp currently at 2.0C after a min of 1.5C an hour ago.

As per yesterday, when I bumped into a couple of light showers on my travels down the M5, there might be a heavier one later on.

An extended period of Easterlies occuring as Autumn approaches. Keep your fingers and everything else crossed for it to be a forerunner!

MIA

A minimum of 4.7c here last night, the lowest since May 17th. As usual the colder air slid away into the valleys and a persistent light- moderate breeze continued up here; there was a gust of 19 mph at 0322 g.m.t.

Congratulations Will!

15.1 mm of rain here in the first half of October ( 15 days )  makes it the driest first half since 1991 which recorded 11.8 mm although the first half of October 2007 was almost as dry with 15.4 mm.

The driest first half of October on record ( since 1977 ) was in 1986 with just 6.5 mm but there were a number of  other dry ones in the late 70s and 80s with 8.5 mm in 1978; 10.5 mm in 1984 and 11.5 mm in 1989.

Nov cold dosen't interest me, snow is virtually impossible in my location, until 2nd half, I'd rather have an Indian summer, peak district members though could well see snow early Nov

Totally agree with you for snow earlier on, still though, cold is cold with lovely frosty morning's its great, for now the snow can wait until Dec, Jan, Feb :cold-emoji:

Your beloved zonal crap is truly on hold for now

don't love it, I just believe in it, suppose a bit like Ian Brown, I'm sure it will be back in Dec, if not earlier, no-one loves snow more than me on this forum, I'm just frustrated with the change, everyone I speak to agree with me that we get less snow than we did in 90's and earlier

My apologise, (((("dont love it"))))  it's because one is always commenting about the boring Atlantic train and good reason I suppose, but you make out it's constant from Oct through winter, but like now that is not the case, me! I'm a coldie and set ups like what's on offer..... is just :cold::D
