Rain all morning, then Sun came out, now just had a downpour with  thunder and lightning.... This month had no rain at all for the first week, now it's close to beating June 2012'

Heard a couple of rumbles of thunder around 5pm towards your way, some big CB`s out east/SE.

One of the worst summer week's I can remember, constant rain and grey skies, no sunshine which considering there are 16 hours of potential daylight this time of year is quite the feat.

Looking at the hideous charts I should of gone on my break this week or next, scorching heat over the east med.

Torrential rain out there again at the moment. With the rumbling earlier I thought maybe a full on thunderstorm may have developed but not so. Whilst typing this the rain has actually calmed down again now.

Yeah, heard the rumbling approaching from the N and E, but activity just rained itself out, and with instability having waned significantly into the evening, no chance of proper re-invigoration. Not so lucky today in all for this locale.  Got lucky Tuesday when cell(s) over Black Country built further activity east over the centre of Birmingham, with a CG dropping just down the road. Been an active week in all though across the region.

Got back from a few days in Blackpool and i have been told it has been wet in Telford but no Thunder ( no surprise there!) It has to be the stormless capital of the Midlands?! Coming back on the coach yesterday from Blackpool went through some biblical rain by Liverpool and Stoke then a really heavy downpour in Birmingham with a couple of rumbles of thunder to boot.

Click here for my account of yesterdays storms and flash flooding.

Some unbelievable damage around here today. Just as a taster to the thread, below are a couple of images of the destruction, including a path totally washed away by something that is usually a gentle stream, fences ripped up and piled against each other... Visit the thread for loads more pictures though. :)

Month started decent, went down the gutter rapidly, charts backed off the mid week warm up now and looks like screaming NW's the week after, lordy not again!

More chance of some sun/brightness at least this week, been about 5 minutes of sunshine since I got back last weekend.

Had a brief heavy downpour around 16:30, a few fleeting glimpses of the sun in the past hour but still not managed more than about a minute before cloudzilla's back over though. This past two week's has been the cloudiest ive ever known around the equinox, 16-17 hour days yet only a few fleeting glimpses of brightness, only in Shropshire :nonono:

Possibly finally a nice day tomorrow? looks like a one off though unfortunately.

There were far more showers here overnight, after they were supposed to have died out, than during the day although they were less heavy than the ones during daylight hours.

Frequent short, heavy showers have given 11.7 mm of rain here since 0800 g.m.t. The temperature reached 14.6c in the sunny intervals between the showers but in the heavier ones it was between 9.5c and 11.0c with a fresh W wind and felt like late October.

Nicey, nice out there :D the rest of the week should be the same with a fairly desert ridge building in from the southwest.

In all not a bad week folks, especially the way it's been of late, we deserve it.
