What is it with this area and storms? The storm literally died over the top of us! Then to cap it off it rejuvenates once it has passed??!!!

We had plenty of distant rumbles then 2 really loud booms that shook the office! Then nothing. That was your lot. Without going all 'i remember when' storms in this area are not as frequent as they use to be!

Sun came out for a few minutes about half an hour ago, but now back in and some distant rumbles. Temp topped out at 24.8 °C during the sunny period, but then fell quite sharply to 21.2 °C in about ten minutes.

Can hear distant rumbles towards Bridgnorth. Rain has begun. So much for sitting in the garden after work :( yet just came back from Sandwell and it's been pretty nice most of the day, bit cloudy though.

What an afternoon, a taster storm about 1.30 and thunder and lightning for the last hour, with downpours. 2 storms in one day after none for 3 months.

So much for the forecast 30C, but I'll take the storms quite happily.....

A record afternoon for September thunderstorms as the one earlier turned violent deafening crash of thunder, saw 5 CGs at the saw time to the south early afternoon.

June 2009 was the last one like that when it struck a tree and killed 4 animals.

That was a cracker of a storm. Lots of thunder and near constant lightning. Moved away to the North now, sun has come out.

I normally find September the most boring month of the year, grey slate skies leading to ground hog day and all that......But not this year :D

Grief, that sure was intense.  There was a deafening crack with lightening at one point so I do wonder if something was hit hereabouts.  So glad that little lot didn't arrive after dark, it would have scared me to death!!  Even the cats sat up and took note!:D

Proper thunderstorm here with flashes, bangs and torrential rain. I heard a few distant rumbles earlier, but thought nothing much would come of it (as thunderstorms are pretty rare here these days), but how wrong I was. Didn't expect this at all, so is a nice surprise (from an extreme weather fans point of view of course).

Seems to be dying down now though as the rain is getting lighter, it's not as dark and any noise is getting more distant again. Good sharp storm while it lasted though.

Enjoy your storms. Hopefully here in Cornwall we can take advantage of developments from France tonight. :)
