2nd day of wall to wall sunshine. Hazier today but have avoided most of it here. Very warm too and the BBQ will be lit later on. :D

cant say this summer has been a bad one. Ok perhaps the best of it hasn't fallen at the weekends but that is always likely when the weekend is only 2 days long of course in a week. June was wet but we avoided the worst of the gloom imo and since July it has been very dry. We have had some very good sunny days and throughout the summer it has generally been warm.

Certainly not a summer to remember for long but considering the dross since 2007, one of the better ones. :)

Apart from a brief cloudy spell this morning it is now outstanding with more wall to wall sunshine and arguably it is now even better than yesterday. Best August spell for quite some time imo. :)

Another beautiful day stuck in a windowless factory till 4pm, thankgoodness the sun's still high enough to get an hour in after work before it drops behind the woods.

No shocks it looks like immediately warming up again next week after a washout weekend :nonono:

24c again today, feels very muggy this evening shame there's been no storms here since that brief one in May.

A few heavy showers here too, though it's not been as windy as I was expecting with a maximum gust of 38 mph. There were several days earlier in the month with higher gusts.

Thick fog this morning but with the temperature already close to 16c it could well be the warmest day of the month once it burns off.Currently the warmest day this month is 22.0c on the 6th.

Clouding over now, but otherwise a fabulous day today. I don't have a temp reading for here, but Pershore touched 29.0 °C at17.00 and I can easily believe it was that warm here as well. And I agree with weirpig: despite some disappointments along the way, this hasn't been a bad summer on the whole. Not on a level with 2006 or 1995, obviously, but at least worthy of the season's name.

Have to say for here in the Black Country I think this summer has been the best in some time. The incredibly thundery June. The hot spell in July and these brief but frequent periods of warm/hot and sunny weather through August. A few blips here and there (last weekend for example!) but not too bad. Making up for the run of pathetic winters we seem to be enduring at the moment.

For me, June is a strong contender for the most interesting month of the year.

..and it looks like we have a greater possibility of a thundery breakdown this weekend.

Proper summer weather during proper summer months!

Do you hear that Autumn! Keep your autumnal weather in your own 3 months!

Almost 111 hours of sunshine here so far this month making  it the sunniest August since 2009 which had a total of almost 120 hours.

It could end up being the sunniest August since 2007 which recorded 157 hours.
