The mist has finally lifted enough to let the sun shine through, still rather hazy but sun shine none the less.

Well it is brightening up here after a rather wet day with frequent heavy showers. It feels rather muggy out there again.

Sea fog is rolling back in now, looks pretty hugging the hills.

Looking on the radar there is some big red blobs in northern france that could be coming this way? could that be thunder storms i hope it is.

There's quite a lot going on in Northern France/Belgium right now, looking on lightning maps, whether it makes it over here remains to be seen, it would appear to be heading in the direction of the channel.

Funny old day. Thought it would be better, but after early hazy sun it turned dull, grey and with a few spots of drizzle. Then this pm the clouds broke and in sunny spells it was very pleasant and reached 17.8C.

Storm wise, after a few flashes & rumbles west of Oxford earlier, not a lot happening in the UK or our neck of the woods. And isn't it frustrating to see a big storm just over the Channel. But unfortunately (for us storm lovers) it's projected to run just west of the Isle of Wight into the southern West Country.

For what it's worth, cloud is coming up from the south east now, don't think I'm expecting anything other than rain though. Guess we will see. It looks kind of anvilly I think.

That storm activity is tantalisingly close to the SE corner! The track of the storm(s) is looking a smidge further north than the 12z high res models were predicting. It might well be possible to see the flashes from the south coast now?? Looking like those on the south coast might be in for a soaking and maybe some flashes & bangs?

Radar Wed11May 21.15.jpgLightening Wed11May 21.15.jpg

EDIT: Lightening activity on the Blitzortung radar has now died out mid-channel; just seven or so miles from the coast. Close but no cigar!

Very heavy rain here now, no thunder so far. Heavier than last nights heavy rain.

Another outrageous prediction from AccuWeather. Apparently limited heat for the UK..... As with all of these online predictions. 90% worthless be it a negative or positive prediction.

Well to be fair it aint wrong till summer is over.

I suppose if they were forecasting 100 days of heatwave like the Express might do then its outrageous.
Saying limited heat is sitting on the fence nicely for a summer forecast for the UK.

:)

Turned out very nice here today despite the strong breeze, plenty of sunny spells and top temp of 23C.

That 'summer forecast' made me chuckle actually! I think those boys from AccuWeather have all got degrees. But as Basil Fawlty might have said, their specialist subject is..... the bl**ding obvious! For example; the UK will have "limited heat & bouts of rain". Sounds like a normal summer! Europe will have "locally severe thunderstorms". Sounds like a normal summer! The Med and surrounding countries "dry and hot". Ah! Now that prediction is clearly wrong. Everyone knows we fly off to the Med to enjoy cold and wet!!

That could be just about any summer barring 1976, 1983, 1995 or 2006...The longer we stay alive, the longer our memories become. It's amazingly mundane when you think about it?

But something I must ask: has Mr Blessed ever visited the Whispering Gallery, at St, Paul's?:D

Been a lovely day today, no complaints. Started off with ac and ac cas about, producing a few big drops. Not enough to wet anything or register on radar even. After that nice and sunny and warm even with the wind all day.

Just back from a run.

You can clearly tell the air source has changed, it feels very cool this morning and the wind is brisk.

Very cloudy this morning as well.
