Well at 9am the temperatures were already around 19-21C across the region. I get the feeling we will break the 80F mark today.

It was 4.1c at 6.45am and it's now 19.9c. I think we can hit 25c so  that's a pretty big diurnal change.

Already up to 24C in many areas now. Still cloudless so it is looking good considering temperatures still have around 5 hours to peak.

Some fair weather cloud has bubbled up here, but still very warm at 26C. It really doesn't feel too bad with humidity fairly low and a gentle south east wind.

The cas and AC cas seems to have dispersed, however whatever is in the channel has suddenly grown or is moving this way very fast.

Looking at the radar there are some showers brewing on the French/Belgium border, those could be heading towards the coast of SE England.

Showers/storms have broken out along the French/Belgian border, moving towards E Anglia. Some signs of convection beginning here, though skies are still mostly clear.

Was out early-ish today pushing an old mattress to the bulk waste collection the council bring round to our village, even at 9am I was glad of the Bedford breeze which is actually a welcomed cooling strong one. Not much cloud either. Didn't do the garden, hubs got some weed killer instead. \o/

Beautiful day.. Topped out at 27c here .. Pretty good stuff for 8th May.

The sun feels hot but the humidity is not high and therefore is easily bearable. Just like my summer holidays to Portugal.

It does make you realise though, how crap English weather is as the topic of everyone's conversation today..? "lovely weather isn't it" ... Lol

Even on a day like today, no where has avoided high cloud/cloud bubbling up.. A crystal blue sky during a fair weather event in spring/ summer is so so rare in the UK.

Boo hoo a cloud! People are talking about the weather because the daily high is 10C above average, even if today was 16C and sunny it wouldn't be "crap weather".

Ay? Of course it wouldn't be.. But your point makes no sense... Even 16c and sunny is damn hard to achieve.

16c with cloud and rain = absolutely!

Making the most of this glorious weather today -  - will be out in the garden until sunset.

Before the cloud and rain comes back next week

So the coming working week looks mixed but with temperatures holding at worst around average and at best in the warm category (Low twenties possible any day this week). Of course temperatures are dependent on the sunshine amounts.

GFS temperature predictions

27-582UK.GIF?08-12   48-582UK.GIF?08-12   75-582UK.GIF?08-12

Monday looks good for the north of our region though a brisk easterly wind will peg the temperatures down a peg, the south looks increasingly cloudy and wet. Tuesday will see showery rain over the whole region, that said some sunny spells could show up in places. Wednesday looks better as the fronts move a little further north (We could see 22C as winds fall light and the sun comes out), there is still the risk of showers.

102-582UK.GIF?08-12   126-582UK.GIF?08-12

Thursday looks similar to Wednesday, warm with sunshine and showers, Friday will see the cooler air moving south thought the south should stay fairly mild/warm.

The following weekend looks cool but mostly dry with just a few light showers, cloud amounts (infill) could be an issue.

Absolute belter of a day here, topped out at 28C briefly but 27C for much of the day. Still 24C here at 8pm, very decent for early May and hopefully a sign of things to come this summer! Very little annoying cloud today either, for once.

A SE'ly wind usually meant clear skies unless a front was very close by. Would be interested to know why so much high cloud developed today. Looking at satellite pics tomorrow doesn't look promising either, masses of cloud over France moving this way. Seems difficult to get clear skies even for one day!

Sorry for the tag staines, mobile view again!!

Beautiful start here sun up and shining bright a little high level cloud and cloud will increase through the day with the risk of some thunder.

Tonight has my attention more though but it may all play day to how much sun we can get in today especially during peak heating 12-3pm key times.

It maybe a total bust, but I would be suprised if nobody in this region didn't see some form of lightning over the next 48 hours

Considering my nighty nose on MetO before bed resulted me into thinking it was going to be a dry day ahead of me, I was quite surprised to wake up to dark, thundery looking  skies and heavy drops of rain. Still quite cloudy and dark and there is a coolness to the air.

but no breeze.
