Love Hunstanton (and Norfolk), might pop in there in a few weeks time.

You may call me whatever takes your fancy :)  Although strictly speaking, I live in Englefield Green, not Egham.

What a lovely day it turned out to be! The cloud only arrived here around 6:30pm, was mostly sunny and warm until then. Am a bit sunburnt. Roll on Summer, can't beat it.

Got sunburnt too didn't realize the sun was so strong in May:oops::vava:

I remember being at the German F1 7 years go up in the Eifel mountains, cloudy day with a few breaks, giving a max of 2 hours of sunshine, it was about 12c! Got back to cologne with a raging sunburn, spent half an hour trying to find aftersun lotion because the germans didn't have a clue what I was on about :nea:

I know, been bad for a few weeks already for me, hayfever meds don't work for me when it's high like yesterday, I think it was even worse today.

How about Englebloke Humperdinck?

Sorry stainsbloke. So, moving swiftly on, a grey start here but compared with lately it's very mild at 11.9C. Hopefully the expected rain won't arrive IMBY until late afternoon.

Well back to cloudy skies today, if we do see some sunshine before the main rainband arrives then temperatures could reach 16/17C.

Forecasted for a cloudy damp day, but still 17c at 4pm?! I didn't see these warm temperatures forecasted until later this week. Not complaining, pretty happy as it means Summer is finally coming, but definitely a shock.

Started off cloudy and mild, clouds started breaking up around 10am until midday when clouds started filling in the small amounts of blue. Wind picked up from 25mph this morning to 37mph right now, dropping the temperature down from its peak of 16.8c at 13:10.

Looking good for a warm weekend coming up, unfortunately not the wall to wall blue skies I could have wished for..

Was quite surprised today to reach 19C, seem to have been a little warmer than forecast while also having a localised area stretching about 10-15 miles in each direction of SW to NE which was the warmest area in the country.

The weather gods of Bedford know things. They know Bubs had a birthday party to go to, today.

The last one she went to at Easter it rained.

Just got in before the heavens opened.

When I want heavy rain - nope. When I want it not to rain it does.

The rain hardly wet the floor here, think that's it until Sunday.

Is there detailed analysis on tornadoes that occur in Europe? I have seen a few reports this year and a few others about damage etc but nothing in depth.

Lovely sunny start here. Apart from the outside chance of a shower today, this week promising to be lovely for our Region, with lots of sunshine and temps creeping ever higher each day. Lots of us will be enjoying 20C by Friday. :)

Meto confirmed by twitter this afternoon, that somewhere in our region could reach 25c at the weekend with a possible 26c - probably just to the North or West of London is common in this set up.

YES PLEASE.....

A decent day today with just some fair weather cloud. Still a little on the cool side but more your general PM cooler shot as opposed to the persistent Arctic air masses we have seen recently.

The only way is up for the rest of the week with temperatures into the twenties by Friday.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

Mainly dry. Becoming noticeably warmer inland, away from coastal areas where there is an increasing risk of sea fog arriving. Perhaps locally very warm Saturday, but with isolated thunderstorms possible.

happy days! About time.

May well be game for a chase or two this weekend aswell :D

23C widely for our patch on Saturday. The only spoiler will be the breeze off the still cold (10C) North Sea which will make it much cooler near the coast. The Arpege temp chart shows the steep temperature gradient between the coast and not many miles inland.

Absolute beaut of a morning here... blue sky as far as the eye can see and feeling warm already!!

Up to 25c possible this weekend (confirmed by MetO)

I see folk on various other threads are focusing on thundery activity this weekend, each to their own, but I cant get my head around how the first warm spell in what feels like a lifetime ruined by a pathetic attempt at a thunderstorm followed by a 5 minute downpour could be interesting!

Thunderstorms in this country are a pretty downbeat affair compared to other parts of the world even in the height of summer.

Looking like our patch stands a good chance of remaining dry anyway with showers more focused to the West Country.

Been cleaning the en-suite which is in the front of the house and I dare say that sun is warm. Shame this breeze is bordering on cold still here. An odd breeze it is, can feel it messing my hair up and generally being annoying while the trees aren't moving an inch.:cc_confused:

Not even going to care that there is a tiny weeny risk of a thunderstorm this weekend, have already earmarked a piece of ground that needs weeding by the front of the house.
