Well yesterday was just dire, cloudy and damp all day.

Anyway I was playing around with a tablet and got a picture of one of the cells on Wednesday which I think came out well.

Grey and breezy start here and with the temp at only 4.3C and already a stiff breeze it feels chilly out there. Dry at the moment.

It's not looking to improve either, with the coldest of the air only slowly slipping down over us through the day, as an area of rain and sleet moves south. So temps not likely to rise much above 5C or 6C for most of us. And a widespread frost tonight.

Rain & sleet moving south at 08.15 Radar Sat 16April 08.15.jpg

The middle of next week looking more Spring-like with some warm air returning, before yet another cold air plunge in time for next weekend. :nonono:

GFS going for 17C widely across the Region and 19C in inland parts of East Anglia at 15.00 on Thurs pm. If it's sunny it'll feel great and hopefully somewhere would get to 20C for the first time this year. :)

GFS Max Temp Thur GFS Max Temp Thur21April 15.00.png

Edit: Forgot to mention that it's 5 days away and at that range the stats show the GFS forecasts verify 84% of the time. So beware - there's always a chance the forecast could downgrade!

Top marks for being positive LP!! And even though the models are suggesting further cold air plunges over the next 10 days, with each day that passes now the sun is getting stronger, so even with a -5C 850 hPa (temp at 1,500m) isotherm over us in a week's time, we might still manage to squeeze into double figure centigrade down at ground level. :)

But I'll be glad when we finally get rid of these pesky cold air incursions from the north and instead enjoy a spell of warmth coming up from a southerly quadrant.
