That Canterbury storm used all the energy up in this area today, once it went there was no more convective look in the sky at all.

Was the opposite here, after a beautifully sunny and warm morning and early afternoon, showers tried to build but all that actually happened was a load of infill that ruined the rest of the day :nonono:

We had a nice sunny evening, but it's getting pretty cold now. Wonder how cold it's will get tonight.

National Forecast : A few nasty storms about today, especially towards Kent

Did the lady on the local actually check the radar today?

Nice start here with a large patch of blue sky over me but cloud in the distance. The Cloud Satellite does show a lot of cloud around from the word go today.

After yesterday's "Canterbury Cracker" it's looking like the third day of scattered but intense storms around by this afternoon. As @Surrey said the other day, it's turning out to be quite a start to the storm season. Today, both the Met Off and NMM are going for the risk area being slightly further north. So the indications are that Suffolk & Norfolk are more in the high risk zone than Kent. But we'll see! :)

Quite a cloudy start here with plenty of mid-level muck floating about, definitely a thundery look to the skies. Feeling mild at 10C with very light winds again. Hopeful of more warm sunshine later.

Got some castellanus about this morning, looking like quite calm skies to when I woke up yesterday.

Off to Cambridge today. Got a feeling that may be the sweet spot today. Looks slap bang in the middle of the risk zone!

Pretty much as per NMM was suggesting, with things kicking off in East Anglia.

I tell you, if the weather forecast is scattered light showers Bedford would be probably the only place to get one. Forecast a sniff of anything stormy and it goes into hiding.

Anybody under those cells in Diss & Sudbury???

So near...!! I'm right on the edge of it (as I'm between Ipswich and Sudbury), with the anvil cloud over my head. Looks black as night a few miles away and almost constant rumbling of thunder.

Edit: 15.06: The storm's drfiting off to the north now. Activity in general across East Anglia seems to have quietened down a bit in the last 15 minutes; strikes not so frequent.
