This storm must be dragging in some really cold air on the back end as it loops around

There does appear to be a wintry element to that hook of rain looking at the radar.

Very loud here.  Was relieved to see the only damage was a knocked over wheelie bin... But just noticed the shed roof is at a bit of a strange angle :-(

What a nice surprise to see heavy snow falling while drinking your Easter Monday morning coffee. Even if it is wet and not settling. It's a damn sight better than seeing rain.

As for the wind, nothing major here just a few moderate gusts

Crikey just woken up to a load bang! Looked outside and a bottle bank has arrived from God knows where, there's an almighty dent in a blue fiesta outside and my bedroom window is flexing like mad,  safe to say I'm no longer in bed next to said window :nea:

Anyone  care to guess what the likely track of the tail end and hook is?

Well what a night/early morning it's been, absolutely vicious gusts of wind here which rudely woke me up several times during the night I wanted to have a lye-in this morning but no such joy. Also torrential rain in the last couple of hours which has been going sideways in the wind, interesting to hear of reports of snow in some places too I'm surprised about that no snow to speak of here but that's the last thing we need at the moment what with everything else going on outside. It's been absolute chaos, must have had a few gusts in the 60mph+ region I'd say!  I get the impression it has eased off a tad in the last half an hour or so though.......touchwood!  :bomb::help:

Our garden furniture has just gone walkabouts, I think I'm detecting flecks of wet snow too now!

Well that was a terrible nights sleep! The dog woke me up at 3am so ended up trying to sleep on the sofa but the wind was howling too much. Pulled the curtains back to see most of my fencing had gone and next doors greenhouse in my garden. Been for a walk with the dog, not too much damage out there, few twigs, a playhouse roof and the road work barriers scattered down the street.

You can follow it on Sat24. Here's the infrared images for 06.55 and 09.10 and it looks like it travelled along the M4 and up the A12, going over my house! :D

I work for the Echo newspaper in south Essex. Anyone who has experienced or seen any significant damage in the area can call us on 01268 469409 or 469301, and we'll try to report it in the paper.

Thanks, Simon Bishop, senior content editor
