Very light snow here now but hopefully more to come during the next few hours although if not, at least we've had a covering which may last for a day or so.

Gone very light here, yet got more covering.  Just had a lamppost check and it's very fine but lots of it.

moderate to heavy for the last 20 minutes, cars are skidding all over the place.

Crazy the difference across the region.

Very light dusting here, bit silly really to give it that much attention, but we've been snow-starved this winter, so anything is better than nothing.

Dew point far too high.

The Dew point can't be higher than the temp, so somethings wrong there.

How is it settling in Salford but not in Stockport? I don't get it.

Very strange. I live in Salford, thermometre reading -1oC and still moderate snow, settled everywhere over last hour, not deep but great to watch. Would have imagined Stockport would have got similar!

i agree, I don't expect it to but just wondering why they didn't change their area of the warning?  Unless they have other models etc hinting otherwise.  Awaiting the NMM and ARPEGE with interest.

I'm afraid our Nantwich micro climate force field has struck yet again!

Yeah same here, very odd that Stockport has nothing, is even settling on my road which is pretty busy this time of day.

ha ha, :-) I wouldnt quite say Blizzard conditions it has gone lighter now but still coming down a fair bit. It is strange how it is sticking here with ease. (a bit lighter now)

In 2013 a similar situation happened, central, eastern & northern areas of Manchester got decent snow cover but southern areas missed out on most of it yet there is not a massive difference in elevation. Must be a reason for it, perhaps the ground is just simply a bit colder a few miles north? or something else like topography is involved.
