Some rain earlier which I thought was the cold front, but now  mainly dry with the sun in and out. Pressure is still falling and temp is still rising so the cold front can't have passed yet.

Temp now up to an  unprecedented  14.5°C !

Squall line heading through Liverpool now, expecting to see something here soon, the gusts are getting pretty strong!

What a miserable day! Wind and rain from the word go and it's still pouring down.

At least there's some action with the squall moving in today, tomorrow looks a more better prospect with gales and heavy showers moving through. Otherwise it's just a typical dreary-spring day.

A miserable day, though the rain took a bit longer than expected to arrive, heavy pulses on and off since late morning and a dark look to things. All the tourists piling in to the Lake District today welcomed by an overcast wet scene.

Pity the dry conditions of the last 2 weeks have broken just in time for the easter holidays. The outlook for the foreseeable looks distinctly cool and unsettled with only limited dry sunny breaks and nothing you could describe as particularly mild on the cards.

At least the clocks go forward tomorrow and tonight will be the last dark early evening in a long to come, but it will be a quick descent into dusk adding to the general gloomy dare I say it wintry feel to things right now.

Tomorrow evening likely to feel very different especially if we see some clearer brighter breaks in amongst the expected heavy showers.

It felt very springlike today when the sun came out between the period of heavy rain at midday, and the squall line in the afternoon. Max temp 14.5°C, now 8.8°C.

Quite happy with a chance of some sun between showers during this week even if it is cool. If the wind loses its  southerly component then I can see the days remaining dry and sunny here.

If you guys are okay with it, going to lock-up this thread as it's getting a bit long and start up a new North-West England Weather Chat thread for you to take part in.

New thread here:
