No snow here although there looks to be a covering above 150M on the hills to the east and 6 mile south of here at about 50M has about 0.5cm, I stayed up until 2am then got up at 3 and 4 am but it was just sleet! Absolute sick joke, always miss out by a few miles

Actually it seems to be more like mainly graupel or snow grains. All the better though, as the smaller crystals work better in the endothermic melting cooling reaction. There is now a noticeable layer on the ground.

Very wintry scene here too, probably an inch so far, everywhere covered in white and gently falling snow.  At last something that feels like winter!

Salwick and the Fylde - decent intensity looks like it will be in for most of the morning - pivot point looks near Halifax - some impressive totals for the Pennines.

Nice surprise this morning seeing snow lying, it's accumulating on the grass but not much on roads or pavements

Well people that was some change. Rain /sleet at 5.45am and then Brutal powdery snow from then onward. Already getting to 4 inches up here now.
