Snowing 4 hours continuous - big flakes radar shows no sign of abaiting  - cold easterly so much for the Pennine rain shadow.

RADAR doesn't show much in the way of ppn but outside the snow continue to comes down in a flurry. Already it's evident that since 8am there's been another cm or two added on-top of the already lying snow.

Hi:hi:

I should not have made my last post.I have put a curse on things.

Got a little cocky perhaps-the snow has vanished.

Within 1 minute of posting the snow stopped and just for a moment thought i saw rain,

Strange how some down Liverpool way have not seen much.

I hope things change for you.

Yeah the radar return looks light but its been moderately snowing here for the last half an hour, but with an injection of more heavy returns expected in the next half an hour form that area moving west from hull

No let up yet, although it's quite light snow, got 2 inches here at the last check, which is quite good for me at 175m - traffic chaos everywhere although it's wet snow so not too bad for the councils to clear from main roads.  They might have more problems tomorrow morning if the snow melts a little and then freezes over.

Yep , about 2" lying here in Marple Stockport and getting heavier again.

Gridlock trying to get out of the town - one of the two roads out closed by the Police earlier  ( normally due to cars sliding down the hill!)

Hardly any snow at all north of the Scorton area.  All snow south of there, and even west towards Kirkham. Listening to the traffic reports it sounds bad further east.

Stopped - front sinking South - more showers wheeling into Cumbria - worth watching.

Chin up Chris we just have to grin an bare it mate, our time will come again. I know it's frustrating as hell but at the end of the day it is only snow. Who knows March may still deliver for us, just because this winter has been so dire for us doesn't change the rules. It could still snow next week or next winter, but I know we will get proper snow again some day :)

Noticeable is the change in snow-type as it's now turned to the fine-powdery type as the pivot swings the ppn more easterly across the region, already drifting snow is blowing off the rooftops.

Was sleety rain this morning at 06:00 (miserable cycle into work) turned to snow around 07:00, and been snowing since - Birchwood near Warrington.

Settling on grass and trees but roads are clear

Train home at 12:50, I wonder if its the wrong kind of snow

For about the 3rd time this winter it looks as if the snow line is about 2 miles East of me. This is why this winter is so much worse here than 2013/14.

4+ hours of constant snowfall here now, small flaked but plenty of them. 1.5C on my thermometer probe hanging out of the office window. I think it is falling as fast as it's melting, the snow cover hasn't changed since I got in to work: just a covering on roofs and grass but the roads are wet.

Can confirm I now have rain, radar looks heavier than it actually is too.

Has Anyone N, S or west Manchester have much snow?
