Got to -3'c overnight in the Peaks, despite the sunshine there looks to be some snow-showers piling in from the Fylde coast moving in this direction. Could catch a few people out who otherwise were expecting to be enjoying a blue-sky walk around the moorlands, I was due to be walking around the Roaches myself today but saw the radar and now it's doubtful.

Why not? It must be even better with some snow falling. It's not like you will have to walk through a blizzard.

I'll be seeing plenty of the white-stuff as i'm off to Norway soon :) it's not so much the walking around that's the hassle in the snow, it's more the lack of gritters out today. Already road issues being reported further to the north and with the ice-potential it's just not worth the risk.

A sleety mix with a few flakes of snow in the city centre.

According to the radar it will stop soon but there are more showers heading our way for later in the afternoon.

Are you on the coast?

Not right on the coast maybe 2 miles inland. Probably would have been snow here earlier in the winter.

I think the problem is how warmer than normal the northern hemisphere is, including the Arctic.

Just walked to Preston and I saw some snow cover in the dry shelters at River Ribble. It was only a dusting though.

Actually pretty heavy rain with wet snowflakes mixed in, if only it happened at night.
