It is sad to say today is groundhog day. According to folklore, if it is cloudy when a groundhog emerges from its burrow on this day, then the spring season will come early; if it is sunny, the groundhog will supposedly see its shadow and retreat back into its den, and winter weather will persist for six more weeks. :(:(

Well nothing is certain in life dodger but id put money on you being correct.

Sholver etch might see a couple of cm as they are 300m asl.

Me and you probs just not quite high enough.

Ah you will be...200m not high enough how could you say such....On a side note 50m seems quite steep for me being 6m ASL wanna swap? :)

I've never heard that before interesting seeing as it was cloudy this morning.

Had a heavy hail shower on the way home from work which made the roads white for a brief period but nothing when I got home.

It's nice to see another chance of snow tonight and maybe altitude is on my side but not expecting more than a slight covering at best and I wouldn't be that bothered if I missed out completely.

current temperature is 4c.

The hail is covering the roads and pavements here now.

Stopped again.

It's an American custom. And it was made into a movie:

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0107048/

Today's result if not posted elsewhere (just cooking so no time to look!)

Known as Candlemas in Britain  with a similar  proverb.
