It seems to be on the warm side of marginal now, the only hope is for some strong downdraughts. Temperature: 3.6°C Dew Point: 2.0°C.

sorry for the short "it's snowing" post earlier, was on the school run.. It was a joy to hear the whole playground erupt with the screams of happy children as the snow started to come down! This is why I love snow. 

It was quite a big shower, graupel then wet snow then rain/snow... Nothing lying but that's the first we've seen all winter, the Mendips have had a brief dusting by the looks of thingsx

Ian F has just tweeted a map of expected precip, looks like the cotswolds., Mendips, Exmoor & Dartmoor should see something from these showers today.

If it can snow on the Mendips tonight, that would be good. I'll make a trip there tomorrow. Sadly though, I fear it may be too warm tonight.

Unexpected snow shower passing through, was thinking the clear sunny start would last until the frontal cloud arrives this afternoon.

Hi all

Its a fun weather day today here on dartmoor. Managed to start work late today gambling on some snow falling. The gamble paid off!

Photos show the advancement of an active sleet/snow cell, and the aftermath of it. It looked brilliant watching it advance up the valley.

Images taken from Yennadon Down which is at about 900 feet. At first heavy sleet almost whiteout then as the cell passed to the east heavy snow then fell.

In work in Plymouth now. Been told its snowing again, these showers seem potent!

Incidentally massive hail storm in town now.

Just hail in the end, but it was good to see Clearbury Hill vanish in the distance.

we had some wet snow earlier...........very wet snow though...............in fact, so wet, that I've come up with a new word for it.............. "Rain" :80:

Well funny you should say that. Our dog came from a litter in Dousland. The breeder is thinking of going for another litter from the same mum (very chilled sweet collie) Not sure when may be this year. I'll keep you informed if anything happens.

In other news I've seen it all now. Wet snow falling in the centre of Plymouth!!
