On bus going into Bristol centre - M32 - massive wintry squall and thunder & lightning. First sign of snow in the showers this winter....erm, Spring!

Yeah - saw and heard that BB. Could be our winter happened right there, right then??

A quick return to 'night time' here in Central Bristol.

And heavy sleet shower. It really is almost pitch black at the mo.

Wall to wall blue, and full on sunshine, my what a difference being way south of the M4 provides:sorry:

Gone even darker here now, it's borderline imminent arrival of the 4 horsemen of the apocalypse grey now.

Ditto, wondering......did we both sleep in and miss today completely?

What a drive to work this morning - Clevedon and the M5 up to Avonmouth was pretty full-on with torrential hail/sleet mix pretty much all the way. Thought I heard a rumble of thunder before leaving home too. Arrived at work and it's almost as dark as night out there with what looks like another big shower coming in.

Heavy sleet here at the mo. Off to the metropolis of Brissle, expecting just rain there.

I think I'm seeing some snowflakes interspersed with the rain here in north Bristol at the moment. Very windy too!

You guys are winding me up right?

Full on blue and fabulous sunshine here on the coast, lovely day..

The BBC weather this morning also showed a perfect blue sky in Kent from one of the weather watchers. Totally different world to here.

Briefly had heavy wet snow as the most recent shower was coming to an end. Brightening up from the west with another big cb in the firing line. Can always rely on March to bring some exciting weather!

Had to make a call for the London area early this morning which was a nightmare - based it on a line of heavy precip heading due east to the area, but then the leading edge broke away while the rest turned more to a SE direction of movement. So no wonder forecasts for snow rarely verify all that well.

Here in the western New Forest, the winds are really wild as showers approach - and I'm only talking about a fairly modest feature ahead of the quite impressive squally band that's just passed through Bristol and extends SW from there.

Sleet, snow and most of all hail all distinct possibilities as it moves ESE. The NetWeather 500m Radar is showing mostly rain but there have been reports of wet snow and hail from locations that are blue on the map so hopefully that's just a poor assumption being made based on the hourly air temperature readings.

Blowing a hoolie here, but just cold driving rain.

The windows cleaners have just turned up and are fighting with it... you should hear the language.

Precip. intensity, longevity, and the amount of cloud cover in between - these are all important variables today.

Catch a brief light shower and rain will be the main mode, but a heavy one may produce a brief transition to snow or at least some hail. A prolonged shower could turn sleety with time and a prolonged heavy one... well then you may be laughing.

Yet even that outcome is unlikely to produce more than slight, very temporary coverings of slushy snow. It is spring by some measures, after all...

Bright start, albeit with the purple hue that often forewarns of storms. Downpour of hail, then sleet showers. Incoming thunder. Great stuff!

Loud rumble of thunder shook the house. Looking out window looks like a blizzard very white.
