Looks like we're already getting to the time of year when cloud starts infilling lovely blue sky. Just practising for summer...

I remain optimistic that some of us in this thread will see snow this week. No science behind it, merely an inkling, maybe a smidgeon of hope and wishful thinking but I think there maybe a few surprises around on Thursday.

I think you could well be correct Jethro, especially those with elevation in the north of our region

Did catch radio solent this morning and there was mention of snow during the day across Hampshire and Dorset on Thursday.

Netweather is showing 16% chance of snow for us on Thursday.
Here's hoping.

Feels very cold here today. Lowest it dropped to overnight, well 5am was 0.6c. We did have a slight frost.
Its 6c now with a 14mph Northerly wind and a windchill of 2.3c, dry and clear blue skies.

It would be nice to see something this winter, can only hope but my own 12z run is in and can only feel it may be right as has been all winter...

I guarantee it won't snow in Cardiff odds on!

I see even the west country has hours of heavy snow on 12z someone needs to fix that because we all no snow can't happen in this region :cray:

If anyone gets some snow this week, please put up some photos :) I enjoyed seeing the Dartmoor ones the other day.

Looking at the BBC / MO weather app looks like the back edge will provide some snow on the higher moor....but that's after 8 hours of rain!

That's the best chart snowfall-wise that I have seen for this area for Weds/Thurs since this spell was first mooted about a week ago.

I'm in even more of a grump now as just heard that there's been another earthquake in New Zealand tonight, my parents are there, I'm so jealous! On top of snow... I love my natural disasters, I know it's awful but I'd love to witness one! I'm a sadist really :diablo:.

so no snow and no earthquakes = sad me :sorry:

More to the point, where is this severe frost going to come from? Last night's min = -0.4C, current temperature a baffling +1.9C.
