Don't worry be happy, Spring is almost here. The time for those April showers, with thunderstorms and hail opportunities. Time also to get out of the clag and change the season, cant wait.

Sleet is back with occasional flake mixed in and temperature is creeping downwards.

Snow in the south on Thursday, didn't look far enough down for the south coast though;

OK what did I miss, I saw 8C on Thursday and dry, did I miss something? We are back into south westerlies with the warmer air approaching end of the week.

Anything of note on Mendip Nights King/Jethro?

2.8c with continuing sleety rain here, it became plain old rain between 10.00-15.00 but has reverted since the temperature has dropped.

The amount of precipitation seems far more widespread and intense than forecast even this morning, oh if only it has been a few degrees colder!

I have light sleety wet snow mix but I seem to be losing the ppn as it drifts eastwards. Strange because BBc forecasts show it hanging around until 6am with some snow on hills of west country.

Always the way... once colder air turns up ppn has moved on. :nonono:

Temperature is 1.8c and falling slowly.

Sleety rain on the Moor except here, just rain. But still expecting a wintery flavour over night. A definite lamp post watching except they turn them off now.

Same here, just rain even though it says sleet.

Was just driving down the A3 back from London, and at Hindhead and around Butser Hill (Nr Petersfield) you could see sleet hitting the windscreen. However, that's with a lot of elevation!

Comical. The band of snow is but a mile north of here. And has been most the night, as it's running in a se direction. Oh well least the dog walk in a bit will be fun.

    Dubai Floods: Another Warning Sign for Desert Regions?

    The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall. It doesn't rain very often here like other desert areas, but like the deadly floods in Libya last year showed, these rain events are likely becoming more extreme due to global warming.
