Sunny start not a lot of wind. See some shower activity is building to the west. With echoes of sleet near penzance on the nw radar.

Alas I'm working in Plymouth today so I'll miss the action back home. I did notice it being a nip in the air in town today more so than usual though.

What a contrast to yesterday - not a breath of wind and the sun is out with bright blue sky. Feeling parky too. February, is that you?

The 06 GFS for Saturday is more promising but this isn't going to be resolved until the precise track of these depressions is nailed down.

BANK BANK BANK, pretty much the entire region benefits from that chart.

Promising comentry from this respected member on Twitter, makes me feel happy.

@Recretos: GFS/GEFS 06z first run in quite a while without any deficit in input data. Synop stations and SAT modules deficit lasted a while @RyanMaue

Yes stunning cold winters day for a change although these showers look a lot less prevalent than the forecast suggested. :nonono:

Yeah I was expecting more, though showers incoming from the Bristol Channel now by the looks of it. I won't see them in north Bristol but they have you're name on them.

Looks like a few strikes recently detected from that mass of cloud in the Bristol Channel. Ears as well as eyes peeled maybe.

What a contrast to yesterday! Clear blue skies and sunny.

Oops! Spoke too soon!

Threatening clouds incoming into Central Bristol from the West. It's gone quite dark here.

A bit of sleet mixed in with the rain in the shower just gone by, turning fully to sleet in the heavier bursts, very noticeable temperature drop as well, as you can see from a station in the town centre!
