0.7c. Creeping down slowly. 2nd air frost of the year to come?

Hovering just above zero down the road here. It's been steadily getting colder through the week. Looks like we're gradually cooling down rather than getting a sudden cold snap.

Hmmm...... Models not looking so good, just a wobble? I hope so but at this point I'd take a few flakes and a couple of sharp frosts, it would still be an improvement on last year.

Partly cloudy this morning with Cu and Sc. Temp 8C and wind SW 15mph

The cognoscenti over on the MOD thread have gone into one of their meltdowns this morning. Personally I find the formation of this low from the tropical cyclone very interesting from a meteorological perspective but even with ecm support this morning if this actually pans out as currently predicted I'll cavort naked on Brown Willy.

Wouldn't either bother going into the MOD thread as it's all doom and gloom again. I don't know what to make of this upcoming cold spell but by the sounds of it it's going to be over before it even starts!

Yes Jay.

Not good. Hey-ho.

Mind you there are folk in there who are never happy unless the temp drops to -15c with 3 ft of snow.....I'd take -1C and a covering.

I'd take a sugar dusting and 0c after the past few winters we've had. One thing I've learnt over the years is don't get caught up too much in this weather malarkey as there's more to life lol. The weather will do what ever it wants to do.

I response to your question on the MOD thread:

GFS runs start at 9.30 am/pm 3.30 am/pm

ECM runs start at 6am/pm

MO runs start at 4.30 am/pm

A slight frost this morning and some ice after a shower passed over in the small hours, Net Weather radar precip type shows freezing rain colouring but goodness knows what fell.

Min of -0.7C overnight, which gave us a bit of ice and frost over the fields this morning.

There was a bit of mist around too and then as the Sun was making an appearance on my way home, I got caught in a brief shower.

Actually had to scrape the windscreens this morning after it went down to 01.6C overnight. Felt more like winter for sure.

Interesting update from Ian (via Twitter), which unfortunately got removed from the Mod Thread, although I think it is pretty relevant, but luckily that isnt my decision.

Worth a view folks.

Very pleasant here now with a little Ci and some small Cu. Typical on a days when I have to pop along to the docs twice.

You not feeling well?
