The first covering in the SE London suburbs since Febuary 2013. A couple of centimetres and enough for the dog to chase my snowballs in the park earlier!

Morning all :)

The snow drought since March 2013 in lowland East London has ended - a transient dusting at best but it counts.

Not sure this was a forecasting triumph - much of what I was hearing last week was all about the weekend being fine, dry and very cold.

Feeling a bit deflated now. Two weeks build up for 2 cm of wet snow that melts instantly underfoot. Even the MOD thread isn't offering much hope. Here's to February

Nothing more annoying than sitting under cloudy skies with endless blue skies literally just a few miles east of here stretching to the coast and beyond.

Well done to all those who saw snow last night, at least for many this cold(ish) spell hasn't been too bad. The next few days look dry unless that front tomorrow manages to limp into the west of the region and there might be a few coast showers as cold air tries to push back in from the north east briefly.

Absolutely right! (Please note those in East Kent posting what an abysmal part of the world etc etc) when we get conditions like matt points out then Essex / East Kent often sweetspot. This set up, I say again, wasnt for us. Brilliant pics btw those with snow!

Thank you for your post you have reminded me that it is north easterlies or the much fabled easterly that delivers for us in the south east so thank you

Glad many got snow :) I myself did to! But make the most of it looks as though some warmer air mixes in with the band pushing in now and rains all over over region... Typical

BBC weather & MET have me as dry for the next 4 days.

That rain band out west isn't forecast to go east of Reading.

No sign of a melt here yet! Everywhere still covered
