Glad Kent is now getting a look-in! More on the way by the looks of it.

Hi Snobob, The magic radar says moderate snow now and then light snow for the next 2 hours and that seems to match with the train of showery activity. There should already be two or 3 cms there....

After a 20 minute lull, it is starting to snow again and the wind has picked up as well. Rather than the flakes fluttering down, they are blowing around now.

With regards to the precip type radar, I agree that it is fallible.  However, I've been under a variety of green and pink tonight and still have the sum total of bog all.

Have to admit though, currently showing sleet on the radar and it's making a moderate attempt at snowing.

Too little too late though....everything is soaked and the fact the drainpipes are going is not improving my mood either :p

Nevermind though.....glad there's at least some decent snow around for other members.  Stops the winter from being a complete bust at least :)

Hi echodelta21, keep the faith you never know....snow can settle no matter how wet it seems.....it is your temp, wet bulb and dew p[oints you need to check. Good Luck....I think I need to go back to bed now.... Yawns theatrically....

It was sopping wet here and a dew point of 1.7ºc, an hour later it was snowing and trying to settle on the soaking surfaces. I am right in the centre of London, surrounded by buildings, anyone outside of major urban areas should see some settling.

There is still a chance yet for some heavy(ish) snowfall to watch at least.

(Edit: Snowing moderately again here, nice big flakes)

After a lull it has picked up again, I'm exhausted night folks I'm glad our perseverance pulled through.

Too right! Night mate, see you next snow threat ;)

In fact, going to do the same... Night all, glad some/most of us got to see some snowfall, I hope others get a surprise in the morning!

Nice to see a very slight cover and fairly large flakes falling. At least it won't be a 2013/14 snowless winter. Do miss my old cottage when it snows though, the photos were always much prettier than my more suburban location now.

Whole lot of nothing here in East Kent, I felt we have a chance and it looks like we may clip the edge of it, It's showing PPN over us on the radar but nothing down here on the ground as yet. Not expecting anything too exciting but any snow would be a bonus.
