The precip looks like it's dying out. What would make it pep back up again after dark?

There is some more 'pepping up' off the coast of Wales but that looks to be more to the west of the region, so towards Hampshire etc for later ... like you say, down the spine of the country the precipitation is def dying out or not reaching the ground as it stands

Does anyone know of a data feed from a live weather station somewhere inside Epping Forest? I thought the Scout HQ at Gillwell Park would be a good bet but I can't find anything online.

I was up there today and the frost stayed all day above 200ft.

Evening all.

My NetAtMo any good?

Currently 1.0 oC with a feel like temp of -2 oC. Dew point -1oC.

-1.2c here in Purley (south Croydon) at the moment.

Think our problem will be how much precipitation is left on the front.

That's great – thanks. Whereabouts in Chingford are you? Ideally I'd find a station within the Forest itself. It is bizarre that there doesn't seem to be one!

Here in Aylesbury ,not getting excited and feel the way of the pear may happen here later.

I think you'll get a covering of sorts but probably later tonight as the main band slips down the country.

Hi all, looking pretty good right now for a lot of people in our region.

I wouldn't get too excited about the 'finger' of ppn heading towards London at the moment... I think the main band of ppn that we are concerned with is the one that is currently building in the Dumfries and Galloway region.

My one concern is that cloud may start to bring temperatures up before the main band of ppn arrives, which would make it marginal for some, especially in central London.

Time will tell, so keep watching the radar and lampposts.

If there's any left which looks very unlikely and then maybe just the scraps which won't amount to anything

That's my worry.....temps on the rise here.....still a few hours prior to the main band arrives?! Fingers crossed!

That outrider finder coming through central England has pepped up on the radar. Not too far from the M25 now...

If it is to believed the radar shows the snow falling in areas around 2C up north,  the band of ppt is quite fast moving  It covered the distance across the whole of Birmingham to Coventry in around an hour. So I expect it to be around Milton Keynes  by around 6, Luton around 7.

North London around 8 , Rochester Medway around 9 , Canterbury around 10 ish...  all guestimates of course, should be plenty cold enough to snow by then , if and it's a big if any ppt survives.

It really is the wrong direction for snow for this region , to a large extent , but probably best to take what one can get.

Seems to be going to plan radar shows first snow in Luton (ish ) 6.25. seems to be sinking south, seems to be very intense in Leeds mind you.

The panic in here at 6:30pm is quite amusing!

Both MET & BBC show the main bulk of ppn over us at midnight - nearly 6 hours away!

If nothing's happening then - Panic away
