Starting to cloud up a bit here, those cute fluffy high clouds!

Pick of the pops 1979, some good tunes from the hit parade!! Curry paste made for later, I'm forgetting the housework today, this is too exciting!!

Oh I do, 2010 was fab, and I do wish them well RJM, just wish it would come a little further East ;)

Right set up and it will! If this lot came further East then it could even go wrong side of marginal in that it would indicate a stronger Atlantic incursion. Right now though the frost and beautiful sun is lovely!

The pessimist in me says it will be a decaying snow fall once it reaches the south, so I wouldnt expect much, be nice to see a few flakes mind you

had my 3rd frost on the bounce today, high temp of 2.6c in my sheltered area of the garden where my sensor is.

was a lovely clear blue sky all morning with the sun out :) now it is clouding over and is starting to get that feeling of snow could be in the air soon :)

Temps started dropping here from a high of 5.5 to 4.9 quite quickly, dp now 1.2,

not that that information helps me be any wiser really I just guess the lower the better!! :cold:

If, by some miracle, we actually get a covering I'll be on a photo frenzy :D I've seen these things downgrade too often, though, so I'm not even telling my daughter. Of course, chaos in the models means there's always a chance the risk area will increase too! Fingers crossed for everyone.

Hope we do get a bit of snow. I bought a new van this week that has something called "grip control" with different settings one of which is Snow mode, be interesting to see if it's any good.

Nice!

We bought a big pickup 4 years ago so we wouldn't get stuck, we live at the bottom of a steep narrow country lane, not a flake of snow since!!!!!

Afternoon peeps, hoping for a little white stuff later on, its been a while! Currently 3.7c here, clouding over after a sunny morning. Exciting stuff. @paget curry sounds like a good call for dinner!

Not expecting anything where I am due to one (or more) of the following

a) Too near the coast = RAIN

b) Too Far West = warm sector (RAIN)

c) Too Far East = No precipitation.

As you can tell I am ever the optimist!

North West of London maybe the sweet spot?

Ha so it's your fault we got no snow for ages.

I have a Hilux 4x4 pickup (in my avatar) I've had it 10 years so was lucky enough to get to use it in 2010 when we had a foot of snow, even with a foot of snow it was easy to get about in it with it's mud tyres it has fitted.

We've just had the gritter go past. I don't live a main road or bus route, so they must be expecting something.

Yep it feels like it!!!

Ours is a navara, I Love it!  And IF we had snow I'd feel a lot happier driving that around! Don't tell my hubby you have special tyres he's been trying to persuade me we need them!!!

Just for fun this is how I see it :)

Best case scenario I'm a tad anxious about the timing the darker depths of the night the better for settling snow, the eastern extent may be too great but by looking at the radar, that is what I'm feeling with precip currently over Scotland & NW England, I sense it will fall wet and yucky west of Oxford as the 850hPa temps are a little high. Critique if you'd like but I've been rather close in past events, I'm totally not with the Met Office view of things!

She seemed to use latest radar feed so was pretty up to date in my book. Starting to feel more positive and have even told my 3 year old daughter who is now excited. I've done it now.

Skies clearing here after some extensive high cloud earlier. Good for surface cooling. Feeling optimistic!
