Very heavy rain down here and strong winds , had to prop up fence with large paving slab Going up A34 earlier did not expect such bad weather. Did the 'core' go further south then expected ?

I was wondering if what we experienced was due to a secondary low?? Like I said it wasn't what we'd expected.

Got back from Skeggy early this afternoon, and what a bumpy ride it was, numourous trees down on roads, saw a big tree fall and a car smashed into it:(,luckely the guy was ok,by the time i got home, not a breath of wind

i was quiet scared cos i was looking at every dam tree to the left as i was driving home.

Eye watching it pile up 13.8mm so far looking like it will continue for a while yet.

Very heavy and persistant here now as the front stalled over Yorkshire ? Been like this since 5pm

Well Frank brought us 19.7mm of rain. Nearly as windy today btw and if the showers maintain there strength may record higher gusts as well.

Rain hit earlier in this area, it went from sunny and clear skies to dark and windy then the rain fell and I have not seen rain fall so fast / hard that it literally bounced off the road and up onto the bonnet of the car as I drove, the road was a river, then an hour later it was gone, cloudless skies no wind.

Nothing like what has fallen in the north but the weather is certainly strange this winter.
