Rain moved down from the north  yesterday evening and was heavy for a short time, the heavy rain followed by light-moderate rain which lasted until around 0500 today. The cloud then cleared for a few hours and the grass was crisp with frost by 0800.

Dry and quiet with large amounts of high cloud at present.

Warm front not far from here so people in Sheffield in the sun will find a sudden change to cloud and dull conditions. Quite a marked boundary from the peak district to here.
