Thursday 24th December Weather Observations

Cloudy with moderate rain. Temp 11C and wind SSW 25mph gusting 40. I suspect the cold front is just to west at the moment.

A breezy very mild start dry and breezy

Cloudy, dry now after slight rain earlier in the night, a low of 10.1C, over 8C above the average!

Clear spells last evening gave way to cloudy conditions before midnight, turning windy, turning very mild.. Overcast this morning, windy, light to moderate rain setting in just before the observation.

 

Readings at 09:00 GMT:

 

Maximum temperature to 18:00 GMT yesterday: 9.4°C

Minimum temperature overnight 5.5°C 

24-hour maximum 11.2°C

24-hour minimum: 5.5°C

Minimum temperature on grass: 3.5°C

Maximum wind gust: (Midnight to Midnight) 29.2 mph W

Rainfall total: 5.3mm

Visibility, poor, around 3 miles.

Temperature: 10.6°C

Humidity: 93.6%

Wind Direction: Force 5-6 SW

Further showery rain last evening before a clearance arrived late evening, windy. Mostly clear so far this morning, less windy. Sunny spells, staying dry.

Clear periods during the early part of last night but it soon became cloudy, milder and windy and there were a few showery outbreaks of light rain after midnight.  Further light rain arrived shortly before observation time and this has become moderate-heavy in the last 20 minutes.

A clear start but cloud gathered in the early hours bringing showers. A low of 7.9c just now After a max of 10.2c at 7am..

Currently; Heavy squally showers with some hail mixed in and blustery winds gusting 48mph

Coolest part of the day now after a heavy shower. Early morning heavy rain stopped around 11 breezy at times

Rain cleared half an hour ago, sun came out for 10 mins. Still Mild.

Wish it was 1970. We had a classic white christmas in Peacehaven East Sussex. Deep drifting powder snow.

Would love to see some charts from that day.

A cloudy, mild and wet morning with a brief spell of heavy rain mixed in with more general light-moderate rain. One or two short showers early this afternoon followed by clearing skies with sunny intervals.

A cool and clear start to the evening with a ground frost by 1800.
