Forum upgrade (hopefully) next week

Hi all, we're currently planning to update the forum to new software at some point next week...

 

The upside of this is that it's going to introduce a whole lot of new features, bug fixes, improvements for people on mobiles etc. So we think it'll certainly be worth it, albeit like any change, it'll maybe take some more time to get used to than others!

 

There will be a couple of temporary downsides though. First one is that during the update there will be a few hours of downtime. (We'll advise on when this'll be nearer the time)

 

Secondly, after the update, although all the basic functionality will be working, it'll still be doing a lot of rebuilding behind the scenes for a short period, so there will be a few issues and missing functions - old posts may look strange, images in old posts may be broken, search/view new content won't work properly, and speed may be slightly degraded. This should only last 24-48 hours though until the process completes. 

 

I'll run through more details at the time, both in terms of any potential issues which may crop up temporarily, and with a rundown of some of the main new features and changes, but just for now wanted to give you a heads up that this is likely next week.
