Can't see that from Model thread, it appears that everything has gone tits up and the GFS has it more or less right all along.

Anyway, stole this image from Barra Best on Facebook, pretty cool.

Mild wouldn't be the word just less cold and not cold enough for snow.

Tried to post this last night but messed up. Took a walk up Cavehill, beautiful clear skies, plenty of snowing lying and great views over Belfast.

That area of ppn headed our way from the nw is it going to warm us up and melt the frost or is there a chance we could see a drop more snow. I know it's probably just going to rain but in such marginal conditions you have to hope lol.

It could be a very marginal event today, MetO earning for snow down the west side of UK and by radar precipitation crossing Ireland turning more readily to sleet and snow so the east could get something.

we just have really light missle here

It's cold here at the moment but our chances of snow are zero, by this time tomorrow it will be mild and damp.

Been raining here for a while in Antrim.  It's cold out tho and then ground is still frozen, rain hitting it and freezing. Just back from walking dog it was a bit a slippy walk. Main roads OK just side roads and footpaths awful.

did the east of northern ireland do well for snow in februrary 2009 or even in 1983?

Yes, My best friend had her first baby in February 2009.  I remember waiting for news as I knew she was in labour and my own kids were off school due to snow.

this was 5th Feb 2009....
