101 I think it's looking more sleety unless we get really heavy convection:(

Think I'll make some cakes to cheer us all up.

-2C here, bone dry, no frost, but at least that nagging easterly has done one.  It's a long time since a day like yesterday.

Snow tonight please, Josephine.

@edo- I was hoping you'd get the white stuff - you and your family know how to enjoy :):cold: wrap 'em up!!

They are currently running around like the living room like mongooses on heat demanding to get out and play....Im thinking it looks like it's rained snowed rained snowed and incredibly wet looking and the most marginalised marginal of marginal events...Sledge hill inspection at 9am..suspect they will play 10 minutes and moan of the soakingness of the snow

Morning all,

Glad to read some are seeing snow, Edo!

Dire morning here in Crail, driving rain on a strong easterly wind, the odd blob of sleet thrown in for good measure. 2.5c.

Game over here. Uppers must be too warm. -1c and sleety drizzle.

Sleety rain for me with surface temperature and dewpoint on the wrong side of marginal. As often happens when the upper temps look much better for snow later on - dropping from -5c to -8c about midnight - there is no precipitation around. At least the tops of the hills looks as though they are turning white. Currently 3.1c with the dewpoint 1.6c.

If it keeps going at this rate here I'll have enough for a snowball by tea time. Bit disappointed after all that Euro4 promised yesterday hmmm :(

You know, some people on the MOD really just set themselves up for disappointment.   They are at it again because the 6z shows an upgrade for next Wed/Thursday's snow.   This weekend for me anyway, is just a crash and burn, not delivering anything like earlier model predictions.   I'm afraid it's back to YR.WINDAE.COM for me for the remainder of this winter(?)

Dubai Floods: Another Warning Sign for Desert Regions?

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall.
