Some really stunning images posted folks

Standing at the back door, thunder quickly followed by a flash of lightening and then heavy snow on like a switch, all within 20 seconds, coupled with the wind it's amazing weather to watch

I left work early (3.30) only to hit gridlock on the M9 because they'd closed the Forth Road Bridge and everyone else had left early too and were now heading towards the kincardine bridge instead. Then I heard on the radio (when I was almost home) that they reopened the bridge at 4:15. :wallbash:

Still better to be safe than sorry I guess.

Just been a breezy day with the occasional gust here. I think Gertrude was worse for my area so far

I'm sort of lost with this.   Is that it or is there more to come?  Doesn't seem as bad as this morning.:unknw:

It's supposed to go bonkers in about 21 mins.  It does seem to be getting a wee bit more noisy in the last half hour but there was something of an anticlimatic mood at the table just now...

it's roaring out there, doesn't seem to be settling down, the opposite in fact.  I can hear it blasting down the glen then whacking the house. Too many trees around for comfort, I may have to take cover under the duvet soon.  Power was on and off thirteen times in an hour this morning - hopefully Operation Conil (Candle for you Soothmoothers) remains a training exercise.

I think I might put my blue wheelie bin out in the street.  It's due for collection tomorrow so should be ok.

Uh oh.....just seen forecast and the story is that it will strengthen overnight!   80+ for here........Oh joy!

Your bin should be fine - probably be emptied in Norway though!:D

Folk eh? Just looked out the street and there's a couple of bins already out there.  I just have to find the polite form of words for when I knock on their doors.

I have no idea why that my last post came up as a quote from peborant! Things are beginning to fly about outside now, lots of rumblings and clunkings! I wonder what we'll find around the garden tomorrow!

Aww......I didn't think you did polite!   Remember now, your words shouldn't start with I'm not happy, in fact I'm quite sad!:D

Not installed correctly ,not deep enough holes and not enough concrete

Yep I didn't know this until this happened. Cowboy job from the guys who did it, they are coming out to sort it when the weather dries up a bit.

I never got that either. My neighbours in our last but one house on a windy hill would put out their effin' bins and go searching for them the next day only to find them embedded in someone's car, front door or hedge. Wheeled bins moving at speed in the wind are a bad idea!
