I understand why they do it but it winds me up tight when the council arrive and scrape the pavements down to the concrete and fling grit everywhere! Winter scene decimated in minutes! At least I still have out the back to look at!

Just a dusting here. Disappointing. Knew when the warning was issued we were doomed!

A fair bit where we are in Falkirk, couple of inches at least, less down in the town itself. Just the wrong side of my comfort level for driving but hairdressers appointment at 9.00. Hoping I manage to get the car back up the hill. Snowman building this afternoon (with my new gleaming barnet)

As Ben&NS were noting, very hard to gauge depths with some significant blowing/drifting, Met O look on the money for here as there is certainly 15cm+

Hope this vid works to show the current state of affairs (tasty oot!)

*edit vid not working, typical. Picture instead then

Yeah works for me too, very nice.

We have about 1cm of wet sloppy mongoose droppings, with more sleety stuff falling. Which means everywhere else will be buried.

Cept Stirling...suffering the dreaded "Wintry Mix" at the moment.

Won't play for me sadly as it's the closest I'll come to snow! :D

I did just see about 5 flakes fall from the sky but my chances of breaking the 5 year, 1 month long barren spell are very slim. The showers just don't make it this far.

It's 0.9c here after an overnight low of 0.2c.

Heavy snaw here noo, almost Blizzard conditions as it is accompanied by a strong wind.

The wind is a saviour and a curse! It's probably the only reason the showers are making it over here but on the flip side the showers are whipping through in minutes! If only one would stall we'd be pasted as the ppn is really intense when it arrives!

Showers are making it through to here and have given us a covering so you never know. Decent shower just now as I write.

Good stuff, tbh I didn't think the showers would reach you. I suppose the central belt helps to funnel the showers through whereas I've got the higher ground of west and central Fife stealing my snaw! ;-)

Thanks Norrance, good to hear you have some of the white stuff! There's a covering as close as Cupar but that last few miles always seems to be insurmountable! A few flakes blowing around in the wind now, though!

Edit: light snow shower in progress! Not heavy enough to settle but pretty to look at and more than I expected! Temp 1.5c.
