Well done Cheggers, enjoy them!

It seems the stally band is collapsing on itself and I thankfully am in the middle which explains why it's still snowing but now the wind has just picked up so something must be up. School is up at -0.2 but humidity has gone down so dp -2.

So how does the radar work?? I looked at about 6:30 thinking this will be the last few flakes, but right now its the heaviest its been! (Bonnyrigg, Midlothian)

Apparently, although a breakdown is forecast for Thursday/Friday, as we enter late January/February there is a high chance of more cold snap/spells....

Still snowing lightly here. Got a nice wee covering but not as much as the other side of Edinburgh. Just been no real intensity to the ppn here.

Doesn't happen often right enough so I reckon you deserve it :)

It's been snowing in Cambuslang for 9 hours now. Rather unexpected.

Light snow for the last hour, just keeps coming down.

Radar not showing any significant precipitation !

Great photos Stormeh.

On the subject of the radar, I have noticed a few to returns (in the last hour or so) in the North Sea that seem to be heading westwards towards parts of the east coast. Anaprop or something to watch?

After almost eight hours, snow seems to have stopped coming down and temperature is up a bit, currently 0.6 school -0.6 sensor. So what are the possibilities for Sunday?

I'd like too know about the radar too. According to the radar nothing above us here but when I look out of the window it's still snowing.

Snaw started just before 1pm and has given us another inch of cover. Still going, albeit only the odd flake now.

-1.3C/-2C

Snaps of sledging and a random hot air balloon from Crieff this afternoon.

Loved the photos Stormeh, I used to live near Pollok Park. Looks great in the snow. I must admit to feeling a bit jealous as Weekend snowfall is the best, easier to get out and enjoy.

I know we will get a snowfall in Crail sometime but after waiting 5 years I hope it's sooner rather than later!

Currently 0.2c.

Yes noticed this. A blob heading towards Angus in particular. Anyone out that way notice anything yet? Here cloudy still but dry as it has been all day. -0.5C.

Temperature still on the way down currently -6.7c, coldest night of the winter so far. Maybe a bit of an inversion going on as it seems a bit less cold inland and higher up.

Old single glazed windows starting to freeze up  on the inside in the farmhouse and the remaining frozen snow has huge sparkling diamonds in it a real sign of a very cold night.

Definitely NS, -3c here, very cool to see the reverse from the norm

A max of -2c today, been below zero for a few days now. Just back from a night with friends near Aviemore, up the ski road towards Glenmore, disappointing to see such a small covering at low levels after days of this northerly influence. Snow is business/livelihood for many in the area, really want to see a more substantial dump of the white stuff soon for the locals that benefit. The mountain is still doing well, car parks full etc but expected more from this period and my friend is certainly praying to the snow gods for something angrier haha. At least the winds aren't here! Fingers crossed, plenty winter to go

Got a 2cm top-up out of that. Nice as it was completely unexpected.

All freezing up now.
