Met Office...

1-3 cm snowfall is likely at low levels with 5-10 cm possible above 200 metres across western Scotland and Cumbria. Ice is likely to prove an additional hazard in places, especially during Saturday night

Currently falling at 1-3cm + an hour!!!

Fell asleep at 3pm, woke up just now to it chucking it down and about 2cm on the ground.

Looking at radar, there doesn't seem to be much left for central and above.

Just had a fantastic day here in the snow, way better than expected. There must be about 3 to 4 inches here, the roads are bad and I was unable to get back up the hill to my house. I will post some pics later :)

Actually snowing here now. Pretty light, but snaw.

EDIT. I guess the met office forecast now works by waiting until the weather actually arrives then forecasting it. Finally they've given me a wee snaw symbol just as it started.

@Michael Kaii Hard to tell from the modelling, as quite a few variations. Anywhere between 9-11pm would be my guess. Best just to keep an eye on satellite or radar.

Still no wind whatsoever out there. Might be why it's been slow moving and lasted quite a while

I'm sulking (along with everyone in the NE).

Oh, OK enjoy it and someone throw a snowball for me.

Moderate snow now. Starting to turn the bare patches a little white.

Don't think it will amount to much, but nice to not be left out.

Went for a wander around Leadhills and Wanlockhead today and was up a hill when the great grey wall of cloud approached from the west.  Down at village level (if you can call 400m above sea level down) it was already rather snowy - most of this was from before today's fall.

Snow got heavier on the way back up the M74 and was pleasantly surprised to find a good few centimetres lying in Motherwell.

Snow even lying down to seal level in Leith.  First for two years, and not forecast as observed on here a wee bit!

Does that mean even on the rocks right at the water's edge where the seals are? :)

They're away for a swim - too cold by the shore!

Think we have an hour light snow and half hour heavy left. At 3cm so far.

So happy right now, temperature falling, snow falling and things are all right.

-0.7 school

-1.9 sensor

Not even bothering to check the radar, as they have problems showing snow usually. Checking my window constantly though!!

Metoffice don't have a clue of what's been going on tbh but they sure update the snow symbol as hours tick by and snow keeps falling (even though it was forecast to stop at 4pm...HA). Temperature also wrongly forecast by two degrees. Sometimes I feel they're a tad too conservative.

Now 4cm so not too bad so far. If it gets to 6cm that's a great result.
