Snow on hills here in Inverclyde, feeling brisk and gusty winds. Couple of big cracks of thunder and heavy stormy winds in Saltcoats where I was staying last night.

Bucketing rain but sure i can see some blobs of sleet in it.

First real snowfall of the winter, here in Dundee, a wee video of the event !...

I actually drove past there about noon when picking my daughter up in Menzieshill.

Sun now out and pretty slushy. 1.1C.

The limit to the strong wind and heavy rain appears to be much further south than modelled. We had a couple of hours of lashing rain this morning and some strong gusts around midday but now it's relatively calm and we have a sunny afternoon. There's fresh snow on the tops where MWIS forecast only rain, so I surmise that the cold air is (at least) 50 miles or so further south than had been expected.

Anyone got any sort of idea how wet it's been this November? It's felt relentless with the rain at times

Well that was a big change...

Took the wee yin to swimming lesson for 11:45.

On the way there windy, wet and 8.5 C according to the car.

Seems while we were at the pool, the wind really picked up then peaked, as on the way home it was much calmer, but with a lot more branches down on the road (even a small tree fallen and cleared) and wheelie bins had been doing some travelling.

T had also dropped 4 C in an hour.

Anyway, was 8 C when I left fort SS, now 3.5 C. Also DP appears to be -9.8 C. Hmmm. Seems a nuts DP, but then when we got back to the car from the pool, it was completely steamed up, even with nobody in it, meaning the DP must have bombed along with the T.

A real 'Day After Tomorrow' front this morning - torrential rain in central Edinburgh but crazy snow in Freuchie (which sadly I missed). Well over an inch there, lying on the roads which didn't appear to have been gritted (not that I can really complain since I hadn't even checked the charts yesterday because I was away all day). On the train back now, hoping to capitalise on this lull (which has closed in quicker than I thought) before more rolls in..

Mongooses really piling in now!  Sky's black with them.  Young HC gone out to find some NO, I warned him to look out for small carnivores.

Heavy wet snaw now here at fort SS.

Seems to be sticking up Soutra too.

Might yet get something out of this.

That was some sky at the end of the Celtic game at Inverness.. Was pitch black afterwards and from the TV you could see a plume of white stuff cross over the Moray Firth. Sounded like Sleet or Hail hitting of the studio

Hail thats exactly what it was as its just passed here, currently 1.5c with a few flakes of snow falling. Still patches of snow lying in shaded areas from last nights snow shower
