I don't mean to be a party pooper but i've just had a look at the 18z run and my heart has sunk

The reason for the snow at the moment in some parts seems to be down to the colder 850's that are over the Midlands at the moment.

Once those milder 850's head in later on in the night when the main batch of PPN moves down, it looks like rain/sleet for many in the Midlands :(

Maybe so Andy.......But in the mean time!!! :D

Definitely warming up, bins were icing over when we had that snow shower but they are wet now. Those uppers charts say it all- another 2015 northerly warmup.

Although Little Greenland (the Peak District) will no doubt keep the cold, I swear it can snow with +20 uppers there.....

First snow flakes of the season here in Oldbury, those warm sectors later are so pesky. But hey 4 months to go so today is a bonus.

Mild sector will ruin it like it so often does.

But in the mean time ........................ :yahoo:

Fizz, Andy.etc...

Real snow now here, with moderate flakes, but weirdly the moon is looking down on me, through the snow haze.

As others have reported the temperature has now started to rise again.

MIn of 1.9C now, but with the snow gone up to 2.1C,  still dewpoints are low though at -2.0C.

All in all a bit odd.

I suspect a bit more height required. But we will see.

MIA

Yeah I reckon so, tbh though there's been loads of times the lickies are white and it's just wet here, you can see the lickies from down the road

Just looked out the window about 10 minutes ago. Moderate snow that has stuck to grass, roofs and cars. Too damp on pavements and roads though, will need to be heavier to stick there. Good to see nonetheless.
